Staff Layering Picks

A new art form is developing amongst the fragranati: layering (also knows as stacking, cocktailing, combining among other more slangy terms). Layering is an exceptional way to juice certain aspects of a scent, to add complexity, or just to create an entirely unique experience. Remember! Don't spray the juices on top of each other! Choose two different locations to spray and let the scents waft together organically. Some of us just spritz either inside elbow...or if you want more effect you can do one on each side of the neck. Either way...experiment to get the result that works for you.

We've polled the baristas to get some of their favorite stackers for you to try. Get a couple of samples and check them out for yourself! It's some serious alchemy.

Mellow/Incense Cloud

The benzoin in Arthur creates a mellow and slightly sweet cloud that is reminiscent of incense - the addition of Avignon heightens the experience and places the holy smoke center stage.

Spaghetti Western Vibes

These two scents fulfill the fantasy of a spaghetti western film. Rich and dry earth is sweetened by soft leather to create a warm and oaky impression.

Earthy Fruity Sweet

Perfect combination of fruity sweet and deeply earthen. Like being at the county fair and watching the horse shows while eating a caramel apple.

Deep Spicy Plummy

The black pepper and incense in Scorpio rising bring out the pepper and palo santo in Paragon, giving the plum more spice and depth.

A Picnic in the Park

Warm weather and the whole day off: creamy gardenia and fresh fennel make a dreamy, photorealistic combination, reminiscent of sun shining in the garden as a springtime evening unfolds.

Campfire Date by the Ocean

The smoky cade wood and salt accords blend together to smell like a campfire on the beach. This hypnotic combination of resins, soft florals, and tobacco suggest a sultry nighttime date with a lover near the ocean.

Tropical Smoothie For The Skin

A tropical smoothie combo for a hot summer day. You’re freshly lathered in Hawaiian Tropic and your ocean-wetted hair still smells like shampoo.

Clean & Fresh with a Creamy Touch

This was a surprise find…. I had sprayed one then the other on a different arm and kept getting whiffs of both and I loved it. Clean and fresh but the Neroli adds more creaminess to the freshness.

Figgy Sandalwood Sexiness

The combination is stylish, understated and non-gender specific. I love blending the fig note of Parisian Musc with the velvety sandalwood of Molecule 01. It's sexy, mysterious and keeps you guessing.

Perfect Pairing of Light and Dark

A perfect pairing of light and dark, Lavandeluce's bright lavender and vanilla-honey body compliment the darker elements of Gothic I. The warm vanilla notes in both scents amplify each other, creating a gorgeous marriage of comfort.

Greener, Dank Incense

I’ve enjoyed doing this for a greener, danker incense vibe
