Le Galion

Le Galion takes its name from the majestic seafaring vessels of old, evoking freedom and escape. Perfumer Paul Vacher acquired the house in 1935 from its founder, Prince Murat, after co-creating Arpège, Rumeur, and Scandal for Lanvin. His 1936 debut, Sortilège, was an immediate success, followed by Bourrasque, Brumes, Iris, and Tubéreuse, all crafted from the finest natural ingredients.

Vacher went on to create Miss Dior for Christian Dior in 1946 and Diorling in 1963, cementing his place among the masters of perfumery alongside Ernest Beaux and Jacques Guerlain. By 1964, Sortilège was sold in 97 countries. After Le Galion was sold and collapsed in 1980, the house faded from memory, until now. More than thirty years later, it rises again, original, exceptional, and refined.
