The Scoop
Pride in a bottle. Fine leather with unwavering confidence. Paul Vacher knew his stuff when it came to leather: in the early 1960s, Christian Dior commissioned him for a powerful and haughty women's fragrance, resulting in Diorling, a leathery chypre scent. Earlier in his career, he co-created Lanvin's Scandal, a dark leathery fragrance. As a tribute to these landmarks of the twentieth century, Le Galion has created Cuir, robustly elegant, existing between emancipated femininity and demonstrative masculinity.
Bergamot and elemi open with herbal and lemony freshness, their brightness paving the way for what follows. Elemi oil, a little-known ingredient, brings lemony and resinous facets that make you stick out your chest with confidence. The leather accord is full-on, supported by ambergris and sandalwood, creating a stunning and elegant presence whose woody power is discreetly tamed by a white floral heart. Lily and musks bring softer inflections that add refinement, the brand's signature touch. Cuir is muscle and skin, strength wrapped in grace, a fragrance that refuses apology for its power while maintaining the elegance that defines Le Galion's identity.
