The Scoop

Incredible emotion poured into superb femininity. L'Âme Perdue is inspired by one of Paul Vacher's first creations for Lanvin in 1928, named Lost Soul and said to have been composed in memory of a lost love. The perfumer made a fragrance equaling his sensitivity, giving it a personality like no other. In 2018, Rodrigo Flores-Roux, inspired by that story of devastating loss and grandiose creation, reimagined this opulent vanilla chypre for Le Galion, capturing the fascinating link between the absence of what was lost and the presence of what is recreated.

A green and fruity mandarin carries away the spicy aromas of cardamom, coriander, white pepper, and datura, opening with brightness before surrendering to what follows. A gigantic heart of white flowers blooms: two duos of jasmines (Sambac and Egypt) arrive alongside rose, broom, ylang-ylang, and lily, intensified by ylang-ylang's multiple facets for dazzling presence. Clove, cinnamon, and plum add depth and spice to this enormous floral arrangement. Then enters a titanic vanilla (Madagascar and Mexico), bringing forth a stream of patchouli, amber, benzoin, Peru balsam, honey, and oakmoss. L'Âme Perdue is a fragrance where two duos of jasmines and vanillas are joined through numerous fruity, spicy, and amber knots, where the grandeur of creation emerges from the depths of loss.
