Created by Julien Rasquinet in 2026, Sortilège L'Essence reinterprets Paul Vacher's legendary 1936 Sortilège, preserving its unique tension between dazzling aldehydes and animalic sensuality while bringing it into the present day. Aldehydes are elevated with a creamier, more enveloping texture, creating a sparkling radiance that feels both timeless and contemporary. Angelica root and ambrette seed add depth and complexity, while Timur pepper introduces a sparkling vibration that catches light and skin alike, immediately fresh and luminous.

The floral heart evolves into a more refined and powdery expression, built around the timeless elegance of iris joined by Egyptian jasmine absolute and olibanum. The floral animality that defined the original composition is transformed into a softer, musky sensuality, evoking the feel of a luxurious fur coat against the skin. A fur accord at the base, accompanied by musk and patchouli, creates an addictive trail that whispers rather than shouts, intimate and intoxicating.
