The Scoop
In the 1950s, Ava Gardner met perfumer and owner of Le Galion Paul Vacher, who was understandably dazzled by her presence. After her incredible success as the ambassador for Sortilège, the actress asked Vacher to compose a tailor-made fragrance just for her. The perfumer, valuing distinction and femininity, created L'Astre, a large, exuberant, well-endowed and magnetic floral that remained private for decades. This fragrance is made of aphrodisiac spices to symbolize the burning gaze and maddening beauty of Ava Gardner, capturing and symbolizing the brilliance of these two great names of the twentieth century, both of whose influence continues today.
White flowers explode: jasmine, ylang-ylang, tuberose, and orange blossom linger in the roundness and warmth of amber, creating a spectacular floral accord supported by generous spices. Red ginger, clementine, cardamom, cinnamon, coriander, and pimento berry ignite the composition with sensual heat before the flowers take their beguiling turn. Vanilla, benzoin, tonka bean, and suede leather add opulence and warmth to the amber base, creating an elixir that sweeps away inhibitions and abolishes hesitations. L'Astre is a number of seduction, borderline licentious, seeking and certainly finding the most complete attention. A fragrance worthy of Hollywood's most magnetic presence.
