I'm a guy and thought I'd try a sample of Montale's Blue Amber. It is not my proverbial cup of tea. There is a strong, dry opening amber note that is nice. The "blue" is more of a jewel-like crystalline blue, not a marine type. The opening powder/aldehyde blast was fairly intense and too much for my personal taste. The longevity is great (usual for Montale). The extended vanilla base note is lovely. I definitely found this to be a more feminine fragrance in the traditional sense.

l get mostly patchouli in the opening, with amber & vetiver as supporting notes. The bergamot gives it brightness, & coriander lends it a herbal feel. After the first hour the amber begins to sweeten, but to my nose it is never powdery or syrupy-sweet, but slightly salty. lt slowly & smoothly melds with my skin, & is still detectable after seventeen hours! A very likeable amber, & l would say easily unisex.

This scent did not work well with my body chemistry. In the vial it has a classic amber perfume feel, like something grandma would wear. On my skin, it smells like white paste glue. I'm very glad I was able to sample it first.

just got this as a sample i put some on my skin to test it and i like it, i do think that amber smells nice but, at times it can be to much, i do like this drydown is the perfect lite sweet powdery scent this would go very well at work..

Coriander and Vanilla are two of my favorite scents, and this fragrance does them perfectly! After an hour this mellows out into something just heavenly, and stays that way for the rest of the day. HIghly recommended

When naming his perfume “Blue Amber” Pierre Montale did probably not expect that Blue Amber did exist. Maybe he considered it an oxymoron and therefore a specially attractive name. Hey, but google it and see what you find: blueamber.com. And did you know that Blue Amber really has a different smell than regular amber?

Montale has done it again. Orginarily I detest amber dominant fragrances. I find them heavy and oppressive, such L'Artisan's Amber Extreme. This however, is gorgeous, rich, creamy, sparkling and very long lasting. I love it on me, unfortunately my husband doesn't. Could it be that it is meant for a man? I find it decidedly feminine and sexy. I may have to buy a bottle and wear it when he's out of town. Highly recommend

An addendum to my review below: Blue Amber lasts and lasts and lasts. All day, all evening, overnight, until you shower it off. On clothes, it lasts for days. I got a compliment on it 12 hours after application.

Mmmm! This is so beautiful, heavy amber patchouli vanilla goodness, lightened up a little with the fresher notes up top. Definitely full bottle worthy. I feel like a goddess wearing this.

Just received my first sample batch from Lucky Scent! i ordered several Montales and am trying the Blue Amber first. Mmmmm - i love this one - warm, soft - beautiful blend of amber, vanilla and a hint of chocolate? Worth a full bottle for me!
