Madera
Eau de Parfum - Atomizer spray
by Omnia Profumo

The Scoop
Delicious, dreamy caramel. If you are a fan of foodie scents, this is for you. It is a giant vat of golden, buttery caramel goodness ready for you to dip yourself in like a carnival apple. Rich vanilla and creamy coconut give this a hint of Mounds bar yumminess (without the chocolate), and a whipped cream smoothness comes from the soft musk and gentle flowers. But mostly, there is caramel – absolutely decadent and sticky-toffee sweet, comforting and enveloping and warm. This is the gooey center of a delicious candy– molten sugar and cream cooked oh-so-slowly until it magically transforms. We’ve rarely encountered a scent that captured the lusciousness of caramel so well . As you know, many of the sugar-laced scents and lotions in the mass market veer into the bitter, plasticky realm as they wear on the skin— but this one miraculously does not. Madera has achieved caramel perfection and stays creamy and delectable all the way through. Truly scrumptious.
Madera Notes

I ordered several foodie/gourmand samples in one batch, and though this is not my least favorite of the order, it is definitely not my favorite either. I found this to smell, on me, rather synthetic. I can pick up the notes described, but didn't feel like they smelled as they REALLY should. More chemical, and cloyingly sweet. It reminds me of generic vanilla - something you'd get at Bath and Body works as a body splash..

Mmm, slightly burnt caramel and vanilla comfort scent. My husband loves it and it's not so overwhelmingly strong and sweet you can't wear it all year round. It is a great layering perfume as well!

I was rootling through my perfume cabinet trying to decide what I was in the mood to smell like (usually something with vanilla) today. When I came to Madera, it was Ahhhh! that's it. This is creamy, comforting, vanilla, caramel goodness with no weird burnt drydown smell that I get from some vanillas. Oh, and for those who find it too sweet, try spraying Madera on top of Les Nereides Oppoponax. It's absolute heaven!

Pure caramel, the coconut is only noticeable if you're really searching for it. Really nice, but not FBW for me. The longevity is great, lasted 6+ hours on me. The scent just wasn't me, but it is a true caramel scent.

Pure delicious and comforting vanilla... heavenly! I ordered samples of about 5 "vanilla" scents and this was by far the best. Where the others were cheap, sickly and unnatural, this beauty is rich, creamy and for some reason I am craving creme brulee....

Melt in your mouth, warm, pure caramel delishiousness! My husband hated it. But that's because he hates the smell of caramel. (Weirdo... I know) Wanted to swim in the scent!

This is the best comfort scent. I have Lea St. Barth and others, but this has become my new favorite. I love the cherry pipe tobacco smell drizzled gently in this perfume to cut the sweetness. A little sultriness added to the gourmand, perfect!

Wow, is this a loser on me! Lucky I only bought the sample! One sniff on me took me to a dark, friendless, anisceptic place. Had to wash it off before I got too depressed.

Very good. It starts off sweet but with a distinct smokiness, almost as if the perfume was just about to catch on fire. Then the smokiness (which isn't a bad thing at all) fades and what remains is a rich, sweet, delicious scent that I absolutely adore. As soon as I smelled this on me for the 1st time, I ordered another sample cause I knew I loved it. I find it comforting, sexy, and warm. Lasts for a decent amount of time so no complaints there. Although this SHOULD smell like caramel as per description and ingredients, I wouldn't automatically detect caramel in a blind test. It has that caramel warmness to it but not straight up caramel. It's gourmand but not overly so. yum!!!

I really, really love this perfume. It is a very sweet, thick vanilla without being cheap and contrived. I ordered a sample twice and now I have definetely decided what I want for my birthday. :) The coconut is soft and more in the background, whereas the tabacco really shows up on my skin making it much more rich. It is more of a skin scent. Very little sileage. Every guy that has smelt it has really enjoyed too. I think if you like candy gourmand scents and they do well with your chemistry you will really love it.

caramel, vanilla, tobacco, booze and leather is what it smells like. I have BBW Vanilla Noel and while I love it, on me, the two smell nothing alike. This is much more masculine and dark smelling. I might have to get a full bottle of it. Tuberose, gardenia and tiare are my usual favorite scents, but this one has a different kind of humid depth that might be nice for a change of pace.

The caramel note is nice but the description doesn't comment on the strong tobacco note. If you like the bite of tobacco this is an all-star. There's also a hard-to-define herbal note which is astringent enough to cut the sweetness. This stuff is a real commentary on how people's own chemistry affects how a perfume smells.

WAY tooo sweet and synthetic, cheap smelling! very disappointed in the whole NICHE line here.

I have a bad habit of letting reviews affect (effect? lol) my nose, but in this case I don't care what people say, this stuff is fabulous! Sometimes I find myself only craving to wear vanilla-y type scents but they always smell plastic-y, cloying, little girl, fake, etc., (except Lea St. Barth), but Madera is PERFECT! I cant wait for my bottle to arrive!

This is a decent gourmand scent. it wears close to the skin and is very sweet. i definitely smell caramel, but like the pervious reviewer i find it very much like butterscotch pudding, a little on the fake side for me. i've had comments from others that it is too sweet. this is just ok for me.

Butterscotch. Pudding. Not awful. Just not for me. Decent and tasteful dry down. 2 1/2 stars.

Tepid, tepid vanilla caramel with a really strong tobacco scent lingering -- soo disappointing! Gave me a headache.

Oh, how I wanted to love this one! And don't get me wrong: it smells nice. But so does BBW Vanilla Bean Noel, another caramel-laced vanilla fragrance that to my nose is almost identical to Madera.

On me it is very caramelly with a dry down of vanilla. Men love it, but I needed to try it several times before I decided I liked it. I didn't want to smell like a cheap vanilla candle. This is more complex than a simple vanilla.

This is a very true warm caramel scent. I love the touch of coconut! Very sweet and gourmand-quite delicious but not for those who hate sweet scents.

Initially, smelled to me like Pilar and Lucy EFotS (which I love), dried down to a softer, powdery scent, very similar to Creative Scentualization's Perfect Vanilla. Not impressed

A super sweet caramel scent that lacks the artificial plastic smell some of the less expensive vanilla perfumes have. This is very similiar to Exact Friction of the Stars, VERY similiar on my skin. If you love heavy rich gourmands give it a try!

Nice, simple, uncomplicated vanilla-caramel fragrance with some fruity accents. It's also not too terribly interesting, and I think it's overpriced for what it is.

I really love this one. As a very rich caramel scent, it is definately for gourmande lovers! The coconut note gave it a nutty edge and cut the caramel a bit. Lasted well on me too!

I think this is stellar! The lasting power is really good too. Foody, boozy and rich. Reminds me a little of Ginestet and Pilar + Lucy mixed. And the price for fl oz can't be beat. A tad masculine for me but I may buy just for the last of the cool weather ahead.

I love foody scents and I had high hopes for this one. A sniff of the sample vial is great--luscious caramel--but on my skin it quickly fades to a generic sweetness--maybe a with a touch of coconut, but nothing very distinctive.
