This smells exactly like Marie Laveau’s shop in New Orleans.

Where to begin! There are scents that confirm fragrance is SURELY subjective and personal. This went in the garbage bin upon receipt. I am so glad Lucky Scent exists b/c blind buys per others' opinions (even the best noses and connoisseurs) are highly risky. To my nose, this one was what embalmment fluid should/does smell like or the inside of a musty funeral home that has not seen a molecule of fresh oxygen in years.

Update: I ordered a few more samples of this. I fell in love and I don't understand how or why! This is definitely not my usual style. Yes, initially it is sweet with a blast of the Petitgrain but it soon dissipates and softens weaving it's way to a lovely headshop-ish fragrance. Still soft and gentle though. It becomes remarkably subtle on my skin. Phooey with "style," My FB arrived today! When I love a Tauer fragrance, I really, really love it.

I loathe florals (except for Incense Rose which I love) so I ordered a sample reluctantly. Maybe I've changed? I am surprised because I actually think I like this. A blast of strong Petitgrain/Neroli type blast initially and then quickly it settles into a lovely soft and light incense. My skin soaks up fragrance so this is not at all suffocating. I think this can be worn during the summer.. A real surprise.

Generally speaking I do not like how Andy Tauer's perfumes smell if you were to smell them straight from the bottle. I sprayed this on my skin and I was pleasantly surprised by the greenish floral that took place on my skin with a hint of woods in the background. As the fragrance settled it became more of a woody oriental and orientals tend to do well on my skin. I was at a store and liked how things were going so I purchased a full bottle and since Andy was there debuting the Tauerville line, I got my bottle signed. I wish I would have gotten a sample before buying a bottle bc about 1.5 hours later it settled into a very sweet incensey vibe - a little too sweet for my taste. Then - within a couple hours it completely disappeared from my skin. Florientals tend to languish on my skin and I love catching a faint wiff on scarves or clothing, but that just doesn't happen with this one. If I knew it was going to disappear so quickly on me, I wouldn't have purchased a full bottle. The opening was gorgeous as was the beginning of the dry down, but it the full dry down was a little too sweet and the lack of longevity on my skin drives me crazy. Andy is clearly a genius in his own right - despite my misgivings this perfume (as with all of his fragrances) took unexpected twists and turns and well composed for a debut effort.

Tauer's perfumes aren't for the faint hearted. If you like safe and easy, stick with the department store. But if you want something different that 9 out of 10 women won't be wearing, try his fragrances. Le Maroc is bold and exotic yet comforting. The woods aren't overwhelming and masculine, they're tempered with the softness of the lavender and rose and it all dries down on the skin into a warm, soft scent. It reminds me of a lot of the more classic perfumes that were not sweet and floral as seems to be the fashion with mass produced perfumes today. It's perfume for a woman, not a girl and requires confidence to wear. Very sexy perfume and I can't wait to buy the full bottle.

Brutal! Andy Tauer's kitchen sink signature approach to perfumery. Strong, without direction or artistic sensibility. I'm pretty sure this can be crystallized and smoked or snorted. Tauer's creations are not perfumes, they are chemical compounds best enjoyed while watching Breaking Bad.

I adore this perfume. It is my favorite, right up there with Tabac Blonde. I love the richness of it. This perfume is so special to me. I got the bottle before the blue one cam out. I use it sparingly , but my next bottle will be this blue one.

Had a sample that I've got from Andy back in 2009, did not liked it at first, by chance I found it and gave it another try. It's unbelievable. Andy really spares no expenses, a bit disappointing that new batch of Le Maroc was reformulated but this is such an amazing scent lasts hours on me. It took me quite some time to really understand this scent, but I'm totally abscessed about it at this point. Great gift to humanity, Andy!

i don't understand it--why does it smell so powdery? There was nothing in the notes to make me think it would smell like powder...but it's almost like a carpet powder and not baby powder. Strangely, this grew on me as I wore it. But it's not what it says it's supposed to be.

This smelled ok at first then all I could smell was a cheap incense smell. Very disappointed.

l get woods & patchouli in the opening, & then several hours of a wonderfully dirty, animalic jasmine entwined around a beautiful incense note, & l'm hooked! There's amber & spices with a little citrus in the far drydown. Yes it does have a "headshop" vibe, but being a bit of a hippie chick from way back, this only makes me love it more! lncredibly seductive & intensely soothing, this induces a state of bliss in me.

To my nose, what is especially dazzling about LE MAROC POUR ELLE is its high concentration of natural oils, keeping synthetic aromachemicals to an absolute minimum. To sniff LE MAROC is to get a noseful of what is surely real rose otto, real tuberose, real neroli, real sambac jasmin, real orris, real agarwood, real mysore sandalwood--- these essences are now dauntingly expensive, and Andy has, to my nostrils, spared no expense in LE MAROC. LE MAROC POUR ELLE makes me think of what, say, the classic KL FEMMES would be... if it were blended with only costly naturals.

This is pretty high up on my wish list, and starkly different from my favorite Tauers (Incense rosé and Incense Extreme). It's ultra-femme and gorgeous. It may sound funny, but this perfume has a smooth mouthfeel (yes, mouthfeel) to me. When I smell it, my nose reacts the way my tongue reacts to smooth chocolate truffles made from the finest chocolate and cream. I don't get candy necklace at all on my skin, and this is from someone who is sensitive to sweet-smelling perfumes. It's very French-smelling. Heavy on the jasmine, but not sickly sweet jasmine. The jasmine here borders on body odour, but that's ok, because there are roses (I'm a BIG sucker for roses) and lavender in it too. Plus, there's a healthy dose of woods to give it that North African ("oriental") flavor. As my mother puts it, "It smells like those Arab ladies at the mosque!" Have I mentioned the sillage is fantastic? Also, it lasts and lasts. I have not yet smelled L'Aire du Desert Marocain, so I cannot make the comparison, but you know what? Andy cannot do wrong by me. I should also mention, I am 24 years old, and I wear it like I own it. I don't think it smells like old lady, it smells more like classy lady. Give it a try!

This is my favorite on my vanity. A lot like L'orign by coty, and I love that one. The lavender blends well in there because i can't pinpoint it, yet I know it's in there. I do smell the oranges. Is there tuberose in there? Seems like I smell it. It's rich, sweet and a true love for me. I just love it. It's a heavy, sweet scent, but balanced. How do you pronounce the name of this? Can't figure it out. Kind of reminds me of Carnal flower by Fred. malle- must be some certain note in there. I need this perfume.

An intriguing and complex sensual fragrance. At first it seems a bit busy with all the separate scents trying to become dominant. It quickly calms down and becomes exotic in an old world kind of way. This is not a tame over the counter sort of scent, one must have a little experience to appreciate how wonderful it truly is.

This was interesting at first. After a while it smelled like a candy necklace mixed with a cheap jasmine incense smell. Not to my liking.

I so wanted to like this as I LOVE l Air du Desert Morocain, but whoever said this has only a "hint" of patchoili must not be as sensitive to patchoili as I am - after an hour, all I smelled was a cheap incense stick of patcholi - this is one of the few perfumes I actually found disagreable. I'm glad some like it -- if you like patchouli, it could be a nice scent. it just wasn't for me.

I am so sorry that this smells like the candy Sweet Tarts on me. It appears that it smells wonderful on others! I love Andy's LADM which is a masterpiece so I am not recommending that people not try Le Maroc pour elle, but please sample before you buy, as it might be Sweet Tarts on your skin as well!
