Eau de Parfum

The Scoop

Hypnotic, deadly and sheer, Jasmin Fauve is a flower made of leather, at once gorgeously transparent and strikingly robust. Opening with a smooth, lightly sweet overdose of fresh white florals free from indolic weight, the scent slowly gains heft as creamy, sumptuous tuberose and the titular jasmine take wing in the fragrance's lush heart. Only in the deeply sensual drydown do the animalic and musky notes truly stretch out and purr, oozing dangerous sensuality beneath the still-beautiful florals. A uniquely modern jasmine from Paris' boldest new fragrance house.

Here's what other people are saying about Jasmin Fauve...
Lovers of straightforward jasmine scents will parse this scent as they will, but Ex Nihilo's actually doing something really interesting here for the rest of us as well. This opens with a super-pretty lily of the valley that modulates over a few minutes through lily and orange blossom into...well, it did say jasmine on the label, so that and the equally bold tuberose sailing in all diva-like aren't much of a surprise. What's fun, though, is where Ex Nihilo goes after that -- "fauve," as in tawny, as in skin-like. The drydown paints an uncanny picture of the woman beneath the perfume -- not the delicate angel of early evening, not the stage-managed doyenne, but the female creature herself as the night wears on. Well done.
