The Scoop
Kong opens with real fruit, not the candy kind, and pumpkin spice arriving right alongside it. The sweetness softens the warmth of the spice, while the spice keeps everything from going flat or cloying. Bitter almond adds a little edge underneath, and an incense accord threads through the top, setting up a contrast that carries through the entire fragrance.
The heart turns slightly floral, with frangipani, magnolia, and a soft floral accord keeping a thread of brightness so the blend never tips fully into dessert territory. Roasted barley adds the toasty, almost bready depth of a cooked pastry, while an amber accord begins to form and bridges the fruit and spice into the base. The base is rich and complex: four ouds, Rengit Crassna, Rembau, Royal Belum, and Merauke, layer into a deep woody foundation. A spice accord and beeswax help the spices and pastries sink in, labdanum and benzoin deepen the amber, massoia adds creamy, coconut-tinged sweetness, and French vanilla rounds everything out. The entire carrier is a Mongolian deer musk tincture, adding a slightly sweet, musky divinity from start to finish.
