The Scoop

On 29 May 1969, a naked woman carrying a cross walked through the Copenhagen Stock Exchange- an iconic piece of performance art carried out by Danish artists Lene Adler Petersen and Bjørn Norgaard that gripped the culture with its transgressive nature and exploration of religion, eroticism, and capitalism. However, as with so much of the genre-defying protest art of the '60s, only a photograph remains to commemorate the accomplishment. By introducing Female Christ the fragrance, a powerful, thoughtful, and deeply sensual blend of patchouli and resin, 19-69 preserves the essence of the art piece for the next generation to discover and learn.

Female Christ is, first and foremost, a patchouli scent- rich, earthy, velvety, warm. Invigorating currents of spicy and herbaceous aromatics- eucalyptus, thyme, pimento- keep a bright liveliness in the foreground, while juicy rhubarb and berries add a sweet, fresh balance to the earthiness. As it dries, a sexy, provocative benzoin combines with dashes of vanilla and ambergris to transport the ever-present patchouli from the '60s milieu into something more transcendently contemporary, asserting the lasting significance of the piece that inspired the scent. 19-69 have already proven themselves masters of stylish, provocative patchouli scents- with Female Christ, they have raised the bar yet again.

Hands down the best and most intoxicating scent I've ever worn. It's rich and warm and unique - I used to have several scents I rotated and loved, and now I have to remind myself to put the others on because Female Christ is all I want to wear. I get so many compliments and questions about it, and feel amazing wearing it. Unless you're a strictly clean-bright-fresh scent person, I can't recommend this fragrance enough.

This fragrance is addicting. I was concerned when I first opened the sample I got. The first thing I could smell was carmex chapstick. While not bad, it's not what I had in mind. Once on the skin it developed into a very clean smell, slightly musky, slightly powdery, with a subtle punch of that carmex smell. I work in close proximity to peoples faces so I cant do something too over powering. I love this and will continue to use it.

This was chosen by Luckyscent for me based on my scent profiles. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I absolutely LOVE patchouli and rich earthy scents. This had a vintage vibe, but was elevated by the Eucalyptus and herbal element. I could not got enough of this scent. Most would wear this as an evening scent, but I would wear this all day every day. Madly in love with it! On the top of my list to for a full bottle.

Hate to be Debbie Downer, I tried a sample and this definitely is not for me. I get very heavy patchouli and resin but with a dirty hippy vibe, not an elevated sexy patchouli at all. Love the name though. It obviously works on other people so maybe try it out.

This is such a gem. It is warm, inviting and festive. I get all of the notes very clearly. The patchouli is prominent, but the other notes lift it and give it complexity. It also has a sweet quality that is balanced by the eucalyptus. The first spray can be quite medicinal, but after one minute or so it is completely synced. If I could compare it to anything it would be a Ricola lozenge (the original flavor)! That may sound odd, but I mean it in the best way possible. This perfume is full bottle worthy for me.

So! I love this!!! I ordered a sample early in the year and tried it, fell in love!! It smells to me like the holidays in the very best way. I didn't get it. Buuut now it's coming on winter and Christmas... mentioned to my very special person that I was thinking that I would buy. And he bought it before I could!! I won't get it until Christmas, but that just makes it extra special!!!

One of the most festive and sensual patchouli perfumes I've smelled in a very long time. Worth every penny. Sillage is soft and wears close without being to loud. I received many compliments within a 5ft range. Just an addictive experience. I received the sample and had to reorder the larger size for my collection.
