Zounds. A bitter, bitter cacao ground into a tobacco-smoke-infused leather coat - specifically, I am pretty sure they got hold of my own jacket from NYC in the 90s and have thus immortalized the ornery thing. As with that beloved garment, I’m not sure dry cleaners are ready for the full effect, but it has a glorious night-out-downtown swagger. Dry down is a good vanilla-amber I’m sure some folk might pick up the patchouli, but it’s not presenting on me. Not missed, though, in all this grungy glory.

I can't believe I waited for this from a back order. Had I known what was in store, I would have left this off my purchase. I know this is a harsh statement for a 4 star review but I had way too high expectations for this fragrance. It is super gourmand and very complex on your skin but it's trying too hard to be the second coming of Orto Parisi's Boccanera, which is much better and has more staying power.

Yep, animalics up front, but immediately followed by creamy, dark chocolate and patchouli. This is not something sweet and sugary. It is delicious, dark, chocolatey, musky, and slightly powdery. I absolutely love it. My favorites are this and bruno fazzolari ummugumma. Of the two, this is darker and edgier, comforting, yet swoon-inducing.

Very interesting. Opens with a mushroomy vegetal patchouli, then a bit of osmanthus and dusty patchouli, and then finally the cocoa and vanilla come out but it's not sweet. Unusual and through fully made. I like it! Would be great on a guy.
