What About Pop

Hi everyone. Today I'm here with a fragrance from The House Of Oud. Now this brand was started in 2016 as a collaboration project between a master perfumer and an oud collector, hence the name. And they have incredibly unique creations. Obviously the bottles always strike you from this brand. They're all different. They're all hand painted by a master craftsman in Italy. So they're all completely unique unto themselves.

This fragrance in particular is called What About Pop. Now obviously from the name What About Pop you probably think of popcorn and that is indeed what this fragrance is centered around. Now most people when they think of popcorn they think going to the movies, going to a show, just a really fun time. For me, what I particularly think of especially when I smell this fragrance is a farmer's market. Now when you're at a farmer's market usually there's a lot of people selling different things. But the smell in the air is normally that of kettle corn. There's always someone making kettle corn in the fall, in the spring, in the summer. So you get that kind of scent throughout the air. And that is indeed a really good representation of what this fragrance is.

Just from the initial burst when you first spray it you get that buttery, salty, light, fresh popcorn note. And it's really incredible. It's very reminiscent of actual freshly popped popcorn. And it's encased in a sugary, crispy shell. So you get notes of sugar and vanilla. So it's a very nice balance. In the middle there's some ambroxan, so some amber. And whenever this fragrance dries down it dries down to a very nice woodiness. There's vetiver. It still remains creamy because of the vanilla. But it lasts a generously long time on the skin. I would recommend it for fall or winter. Just gorgeous from the House of Oud.
