People ask us at the store what fragrance we've been wearing lately and, truthfully, the answer a lot of the time is that we wear something different every day. But I actually wore Lune Feline by Atelier des Ors every day for a couple of months straight. There's something about this fragrance that is so addictive and just really gets under your skin.

It's hard to categorize. It's definitely a little bit of a vanilla, a little bit amber, but it's also kind of smoky and balsamic and opens in these kind of medicinal notes. Cardamom and Cinnamon give this a really unique and gorgeous, spicy opening before it goes into a more woody heart and ends up on that ambery vanilla.

I don't always love an amber fragrance. Sometimes they lean a little bit too thick or syrupy for me, but I find Lune Feline to be perfectly balanced. If any of those notes appeal to you, I think you'd love this fragrance. It truly captured my heart this year.

Warm and cozy in a bottle. I smell all the spices, but none of them are overpowering. It smells something like brandy, molasses, vanilla, and winter spices, almost like walking into a cottage kitchen a couple days after someone baked and made Hot Toddies with feet of snow outside. I don't love sweet fragrances, but the sweetness in this is just the right amount. The musk and resins give it more depth and roundness and the cedar and other woody notes give it a sturdy, sensible base. Both those mid and base notes tamp down the sweetness of the vanilla note to a not only tolerable but perfect level. I imagine this is what Clara's mother in the Nutcracker smelled like. Elegant, sophisticated, but deep, warm, and feminine. 9.5/10.

This simply didn't work on my skin. I've read that the particular scent is very polarizing either its smells gorgeous or awful on each person. Unfortunately, on my skin it smells awful and pungent in the opening, then it smooths out some in the middle and dry down but I don't like it at any point. It's funny because I thought this was a rich vanilla scent, but I get zero vanilla on me. I get a slight smokey touch , not prominent, but it is there. It is hard for me to decipher what notes I am smelling. I think I get cardamon (I love this note usually), and maybe styrax and something slightly green? Really not sure. What a disappointment!! I was hoping this would be magical on me. At least I only got a sample.

Oh glorious notes of smoked wood and cinnamon! How could I forget the smell of those nights spent dancing the rumba with you. The heat of the fire rushed past us but not without leaving a smokey signature on our skin. What is that? The sweet, sticky smell of vanilla wafts through the window. You are balanced by the delicacy of this perfume. Garlands of herbaceous conifer rest on the staircase. You dance the musc dance, but never alone. Tender apples and evergreen follow your footsteps, anticipating your next twirl. Never was there a pas de deux such as this.

I've been looking for a warm, woody, cozy fragrance. This delivers. At first, I could smell the cinnamon, but it faded down pretty quickly. The balsam and cedar stayed a bit more forward. The ambergris and vanilla cuddled up together and got sexy. As it dried, I got a bit of Diptyque's Eau Duelle, but this has a caramel edge, and the woods hold up a bit more (although I haven't tested that one in a while). Four hours in, and it faded quite a bit, with notes of cedar, a touch of vanilla/caramel, and the balsam. Overall, it's a win. As someone who loves gourmands and how vanilla can play around and soften stronger notes like cedar or woods, this is a perfect treat.

I had to wait for this wonderful perfume due to a back-order status. Ah, but so worth the wait! There is the introductory spicy cardamon, pepper, cinnamon and, dare I inject, a subtle allspice accord. Soon afterwards the lovely middle notes arrive and keep me on point, waiting for what will surface next. It's complex and beautiful, it truly fills the senses. If you enjoy exotic woods, patchouli, amber or other spicy heady fragrances then, by all means, please try this. Very long lasting and not much is needed as per a single day's application. Perfect for late fall and winter but, it might be too heavy for spring and summer on some. Personally, I will elect to wear this beauty all year round. It's just that good.

I agree with the previous reviewer's assessment--warm, resinous, and spicy--but the vanilla gives some sweetness and the green notes give a little sharpness. Amazingly long lasting; even at the end of a very long day I could still catch a faint scent on my skin. Low sillage, though; it isn't overpowering. And yes, this is a dangerous sample pack given the price of a full bottle.

Wow I am really questioning my sanity getting this sample pack because these are so beautiful, and in those amazing bottles and now I am going to have to have some. Especially this one, which is resinous warm and spicy, familiar yet different. It lasts and last so I guess it will be worth it for the full bottle.
