Coquette tropique
Fragrance Oil
by Monyette Paris

The Scoop
Coquette Tropique is the long-awaited follow up to Monyette Paris and the second addition to the haute voyage collection. Inspired by fresh and exotic florals from Polynesian isles. Coquette is composed of Hibiscus, Gardenia, Plumeria, and delicate French Anjou pear. Top notes of brilliant, sparkling citrus burst through a seductive middle note of rare Madagascar vanilla, settling into the purity of fresh island blossoms. Deliciously ripe, alluring and sexy.

I would strongly suggest sampling this before you buy it. The "air freshener" and "juicy fruit" comments are spot on. I adore Monyette Paris so I almost bought this sight un-smelled but I'm so glad I didn't. Really disappointed.

Was optimistic and purchased despite the many negative reviews. They were all right. This is revolting. Do not waste your money. Cannot imagine anyone would like this scent-none of the six people who live in my house could even tolerate it.

Straight up Juicy Fruit gum. I tried desperately to like this, but all I ever smelled was sweetened pear. Perfect for teens and preteens, but I think it should be retired at 21. Moms, if your daughter is begging for a perfume, this is a safe, and yes, very sweet, bet. It's fun and fruity, but not remotely sexy.

Received this at a very good price from Lucky-would never have spent full price on this product. Between the size of the roll on, the fragrance, and the equality of the bottle. cannot give good rating. The outside packaging is nice and attractive. I opened the fragrance-took a whiff that was enough.

I don't understand all the bad reviews on this one. Of course it's not as attractive as it's older sister Monyette Paris, but it is a great scent as well, especially if you're into fruity floral scents. Ripe pear, vanilla and some gardenia; a little goes a long way and it's definitely not "plastic" smelling in any way.

This is obviously a love-it-or-hate-it fragrance. Personally, I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone can love this nauseating perfume - it smells like a public toilet that's just been cleaned with industrial strength deodorizer. I couldn't wash it off fast enough.

This is not bad for a follow up to Monyette Paris, but not as good. A bit more sugary. But does remind me the an deserted Island with Mai Ties and palm trees. It is a perfect everyday summer scent.

the description makes this sound fantastic but it really just smells like juicy fruit gum. completely nauseating.

I must admit that this scent does not smell expensive, but there's something about it that is alluring and like tropical fruit candy. Miss Marissa Tropicale is more sophisticated with its coconut and fruits, but still young, which makes this fragrance a bit juvenile. Still, with all the negative press on this page, and it's pretty much true, I do like it alot for summer days.

im embarassed to make this connection, but i have to, it smelled like tropical scented massage oil from an adult store. An artifical and forced tropical scent that falls flat and way is too sweet. The fact that its an oil just added to the creepiness. Someone actually commented that I smelled 'stripper perfume' WTH? Glad i just got a sample

It was love at first smell but then i thpught wait is it too strong for me? After a couple minutes the oil perfume melted in my skin and I got this soft but lasting pear and vanilla scent. I smelled it thoughout the day it was fun and cute. And sometimes I like to feel fun and cute AND flirty. Its a fun fragrance. I ordered a full bottle, can't wait to recieved it!

My apologies to the fans of this scent; however, its drydown reminds me Raid.

I wanted to like this, but its way too sweet. Worse part is, the sweetness is a bit too artifical. I've tried it a few times, but I still get a weird drydown fragant. It reminds me too much of a car air freshner. For the price, I was hoping for a more complex and unique scent. This one is just to random, in my opinion.

I hated this from the moment I took the cap off the bottle. To me, Coquette Tropique smells like a sickly sweet air freshener. Definitely not my kind of fragrance.

Okay, I admit it, the only reason I tried this sample was because I liked the name but after giving it a try I fell in love!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s so sweet and delicate, cute and fun, and very alluring. The perfect combination of Anjou pear mixed with the flowers and coupled with Madagascar vanilla and citrus is what makes it so very feminine and extremely seductive (so I’m told, hee hee!). I only wish the scent lasted more than a few hours!!! No matter, the beautiful scent is well worth the reapplication. Speaking of which, I love the idea of a roll-on bottle, very convenient! Without a doubt, Coquette Tropique will most definitely become one of my “signature” scents! I love, love, loved it!!!

Ugh this is gross. The pear dominates completely, and it is an artificial, air-freshener fruit scent. After an hour or so, I could catch a hint of Monyette gardenia, but I couldn't enjoy it at all whatsoever. I kept smelling my wrists, hoping the fake pear would let up, and when it didn't I washed it off. Disappointing, since Monyette Paris is so smooth and warm.

Coquette Tropique is a fun, very pretty, tropical fruity floral. My skin brings out a lot of pear in the topnotes, and as the scent develops I smell plumeria, and guava jam. This isn't my usual type of fragrance, but I like to have a fruity-floral in my wardrobe in case I'm in the mood for one. I've smelled a lot of fruity-florals, as there is no shortage of them on the market, but Coquette Tropique is the one I've chosen to own. It's energetic and playful and quite enjoyable.

I put this on and all I get is that Plumeria scent from Bath and Body Works - it's not awful, but not Monyette, which I love. I'm not getting any Gardenia, Vanilla, or Banana like the other reviewers. I get a Plumeria/Hibiscus fruit punch....which is cool if that's what you are into. I'm sticking to the original, but I have a friend who will love all of this fruit!

Just a few days ago we went to Henri Bendel. My entire motivation for going was to smell the Monyette Paris scents, especially Coquette tropique. I put it on my wrists and it smelled really good. I was tempted to put on more, but then after a little while I began to smell something spicy and familiar... cinnamon Christmas air freshener. It smelled cheap, and nothing like the fruity floral I expected it to be. Very disappointed.

Hideous. Bugspray mixed with Bubblegum. I would go so far as to say godawful. Could not wash if off effectively enough (they always having staying power when you don't like them!) or fast enough. Yech. True Rating: Negative 5, in other words, Zero would be too high for this.

I bought this perfme without any sample, just have read the comments and now I should say - I am a bit dissappointed. I expected something more creamy and elegant but pear is too dominant in this fragrance. It smells like pear boiled in sugar. Monyette Paris is more interesting, more impressive for sure.

Wanted to love this but couldn't get past the plumeria that was very pronounced on my skin. It is also syrupy sweet...almost too sweet...and I love the gourmandy sweet fragrances! The staying power is great...6 hours later and I still feel like a syrup drenched Hawaiian lei!

This scent is divine. I had no idea it would be this good. It is sexy, flirtatious and most of all long lasting. I swear I put this on in the morning, and I don't have to touch it up...but I do sometimes anyway because it is such a pleasure to wear. Definitely a warm weather scent though the first time I wore it was on St. Patrick's Day

this is a LOVE POTION! i had been aching to try this for awhile now-- i think you have to have a propensity for sweet/ gourmand scents, but i thought it was very nicely balanced-- a little fruit, a little flower, a little vanilla-- and i don't ever like to smell like flowers! it is just complex enough. i am enamored with COQUETTE!

I didn't get the Juicy Fruit Gum comparison, but I did get Bath & Body Works mixed with Lip Smackers. I'm sorry to those who really liked this, but I just can't do it. This is nothing like Monyette, and if you want a truer Pear frangrance, try Susanne Lang. If it's any consolation, I typically hate florals, though I am a vanilla fan. But this stuff was just too reminiscent of a little girl with stringy blonde hair, dirty knee caps, smacking a mouthful of Bubblicious, all while thumbing through her mother's fashion magazine while she waits for her in the salon's waiting room.

I figured this one out! Women love the original men love Coquette. Whenever I wear it I get asked out and the compliments insue. It's the strangest thing, but I do feel a little more flirty and light, you have to put just a dab and the fragrance WILL change dramatically and the fruity/buble gum notes will dissolve into a layer of clean, floral. Buy this if you're single, I can guarantee you'll get attention!!!!!

This really is a different scent than any others I have tried. It is a bit sweet but also spicy in a good way! Although I like the perfume I will not buy it again. I prefer more womanly and less little girly scents as this one seems to be. If you love the original Monyette please do splurge on the beautiful new limited edition bottle. It is a perfume you will always go back to after trying to find THE ONE because there is none like it!

Hmmmm.... I liked the smell it gave off around me, but when I got too close to my wrist I didn't like it at all. Close up it was way to sweet, i think the pear came out way too much. It was headache inducing, but then again most fragrances give me a headache.

I agree with several previous posters, I LOVE Monyette Paris, but this is VERY different. It is nice, but stronger and more floral. Definitely noticed the pear, wish that part could have lasted a little longer, florals are quite obvious, but didn't notice the vanilla much on me, and vanilla usually works well for me. It will make a great change of pace from time to time, though.

Very different from Monyette, cleaner, fresher, "sparkling". It is candy-esque but complex not little girl-ish. People come up to me and beg me for my fragrance (I won't tell!). Give it a chance, you will be suprised when it warms to your skin how good this is!!!!
