The Scoop
Like the original, Decision 42 follows the lightning strike of the juniper tree starting with the vibrancy of the bolt, then the deeper burning effect of the strike, and then the return of life after the storm. The pairing of bergamot and neroli opens with freshness, brightness, and elegance, even a bit of softness. Pink pepper, cardamom, and cinnamon add spiced warmth that builds momentum, creating the initial lightning strike's electric energy. This is the moment of decision, of clarity before impact, of light before shadow.
Juniper arrives with clean freshness, but pairing it with pine tar creates a bolder, smokier signature that deepens the composition into something darker and more immersive. Frankincense, myrrh, and sandalwood add contemplative depth, creating the burning effect of the strike itself. Cedarwood and labdanum ground and structure the base, still grounding but warmer and deeper than the original. This fragrance holds more contrast and a more immersive interpretation, where the storm passes and life returns, transformed. Patchouli, vanilla, and labdanum create a foundation that feels both warm and burnt, luxurious and primal, a scent for those who understand that decisions are forged in intensity.
