This perfume represents ‘Zuko’, which has been used in Japan for more than 1,200 years, and has been fused and evolved with modern science and technology to create a liquid perfume.
This is a modern version of Zuko using herbal medicine such as turmeric and glove, camphor and agarwood, which are said to have been used as medicine by Kobo Daishi Kukai (774–835) about 1,200 years ago.
Traditional Zuko is a fine powder made by drying and mixing herbal medicines such as agarwood, clove, cinnamon and turmeric, which has also been used as a medicine. Before beginning their ascetic practices, monks would take Zuko in their mouths or apply it to their bodies to remove impurities and purify their bodies and minds. This is believed to purify three elements: body, speech and spirit.
