The Scoop

We know what you’re thinking. Amber - been there, done that, got the t-shirt, yadda yadda. Well, we’re here to tell you that Ambre Loup is different and that you need it. Because this wild thing with a tarry, smoky twist is the amber that touches the primal part of your hunter-gatherer soul that other ambers failed to reach.

Ambre Loup opens up on a smoky, animalic castoreum note that comes off partly like oud oil and partly like warm, chewy tar. Peru balsam is responsible for a thick, cinnamon-spiced resinousness, but labdanum is real the star of the show here, displaying every nuance of its rich, smoky, tobacco-like character. Under the dry, rugged woods and resins, a slow-moving river of golden vanilla and tonka swells up and fills the scent with a sweet, creamy sensuousness. Quite simply, a amber that is too beautiful, unique, and unusual to pass up.

One of the greatest amber fragrances ever! A true statement maker. I can't see anyone not liking this stuff. Get 100ml and wear it for years. I tend to only wear this in fall and winter, due to how dense it is, but an occasional date night is perfect with Ambre Loup.

One of the best amber fragrances to hit the market since Tom Ford Amber Absolute. It’s so unique. I owned this fragrance when it first came out and it had the silver cap. Back then, I remember emailing Rania and she informed me that she only uses real oud and sources her high end naturals very carefully, fast forward to now, the scent has not changed at all. This is a deep, resinous, smoky, amber with so much character. It’s more on the daring side, but smells so damn good! I love it! 1010

This is so lush, so divinely blended. I love resins, woods, vintage chypres, myrrh… you get my vibe… but this amber deserves the Amber Crown. It starts off with a cinnamon, clove, rum, raisin accord edging towards gourmand, but soon, this melts into a lush cushion as the smokiness, woods, resinous and roasty tonka, benzoin, Peru balsam and labdanum all swim to create The Perfect Amber. Just the right balance of earthy and sweet and resinous and woods and vanilla and warmth and spice. I will never tire of her. Well done Maestra Rania!!

I do not find this rich or deep or even very amber-y. It smells like vanilla extract with cinnamon to me. It improves in the dry down, but it stays close to the skin -- sillage is not great. The other reviews are so glowing, I was expecting something richer and more magical. I much prefer Tom Ford's amber.

Ran though the first sample so quick it was clear immediately this would need to be full bottle. Starts off feral but comes in from the forest & curls up by the fire. Fiercely comforting.

Not often do I smell something the first time and feel so in love with it as if I have known it for lifetimes. Ambre Loup is a very rich, dense woodsy, Labdanum laden Ambery scent with what I'm guessing is Indian Oud & Peru Balsam. This scent will keep you safely lost in a scent bubble for hours. On my skin it lasts at least 5-6 hours strong and then mild for another couple hours. It is not one for people who prefer softer and gentle floral scents. But if you love Peppery, Woods & resins you will love this. It is bold and very much evokes a sense of exoticism of the Middle Eastern scents. I liken Ambre Loup to Areej La Dore's Russian Oud, while they are not the same, they are cousins, similar in their essence.
