Here's what other people are saying about Acqua e Zucchero...
New car smell is how this perfume smells on my skin! I like that plastic newly washed car scent in my car but not on me. I really wanted to smell oranges, vanilla, and berries but that never happened. Oh well, I can use the sample in my car to give it that new smell. I recommend testing this perfume do not blind buy it.

I only ordered a sample of this because the first note mentioned is orange blossom. I''d like to know if anyone who thinks this smells like orange blossom has actually smelled one? This is not floral, it is true vanilla sweetness and I felt like I had put on the vanilla hippie oil I used to get in the metaphysical book store in my college town. No no no no no. Headachey sweet and a way too literal use of vanilla sugar for my skin.

Really quite lovely if used with a light hand...too much and you will end up with a cotton candy headache
By   - Insurance  from Providence on 6/22/2016
Delicious! Love this! The staying power is amazing! OK, this does not smell like Pink Sugar, Pink Sugar smells like Acqua e Zucchero. I can see Aquolina made a copypaste in this case..
By   - Social Media from Atlanta on 5/19/2016
Got a sample of this perfume..since I adore Pink Sugar, it struck a chord with me right away. I have NEVER spent $250 on any perfume before but couldn''t resist this. It is so much more pure and mature. It has a resemblance to Pink Sugar but is much more adult. It changes into a gorgeous fragrance that works with my chemistry. I was told where I work that "something" smelled amazing..everyone wanted to know where the gorgeous fragrance was coming from..I just smiled and walked away. Wont share.

This is a wonderful scent. Very sweet, but not cloying or offensive to those around you. I understand the comparison to Pink Sugar, and made the connection myself. However, I dug up a sample of Pink Sugar I had and compared them. They are not close at all when compared side by side. This fragrance is less in your face and clearly better composed. I would not wear Pink Sugar, but will be buying a full bottle of this lovely perfume.
By   - SAHM from San Diego on 11/13/2014
I absolutely adore this fragrance! I ordered a sample and immediately purchased a full bottle. I can see how some people are comparing it to Pink Sugar, however, I put a spray of PS on one arm and AeZ on another arm...Holy schnikees, what a difference! When you sniff these in tandem, they are in no way comparable. PS had a pungent chemical shadow, like you had been exposed to a horrible accident at a vanilla syrup factory. AeZ had this wonderful light aire of sweet water, like the simple syrup from a Mojito. (No mint or rum scent though.) I guess that''s why they named this fragrance "sugar water", very appropriately named. Fbw for sure!!!
By   - from New Englander on 4/19/2014
This is the fancy girl''s Pink Sugar, definitely. It''s less cloying and more grown up, has a more complicated and wonderful dry-down, and lasts forever. I got compliment after compliment while wearing this, from women and men alike. Everyone seemed to love it - friends kept coming to smell me and my man kept telling me how wonderful I smelled. While yes, it''s definitely an outrageous price for something that does smell an awful lot like the much cheaper Pink Sugar, if longevity and a quite a bit more class mean a lot to you, I say go for it. Or at least check out The Perfumed Court or Surrender to Chance to see if you can get a decant of it. It''s a beautiful, sexy, comforting, sweet and warm scent, and well worth every penny.

Hands down my most complimented fragrance. When I wear this, both men and women notice AND comment AND love it. Nothing else in my wardrobe garners the same praise. I''ll keep coming back!
By   - Physician from San Francisco on 6/17/2013
Just received my bottle of this juice. If this is what PS smells like (to me or on me) I would have jumped on that wagon many years ago. PS is no Acqua e Zucchero. This scent is warm and yet flirty. The most wonderful skin scent - my nose is stuck to my wrist. I need to get a back up bottle.
By   - Account Manager from Detroit on 3/19/2013
I do admit AeZ and PS are in the same categorygenre. However, before purchasing a bottle of AeZ, I went to Sephora and sprayed PS on one wrist and put some of my AeZ sample on the other. I smelled each wrist for several hours and finally concluded that AeZ is in fact nicer smelling, of much higher quality, and frankly, worth the ridiculous price tag. PS is simply the poor girl''s cheap version of AeZ. Would you rather have the beautiful, custom made, high-end Italian designer couture dress, or the ill fitting, fake, Forever 21, made-in-China knock-off, clearance rack version of it? You decide.
By   - from Bay Area on 10/10/2012
This smells exactly like Pink Sugar as many reviewers say. However, it stays all day, and the dry down is so much more rich. I agree, yep PS, but 7 bottles of PS to equal one of these. This is a grown up version and more sophisticated. Get a sample first, but if you like PS, you''ll love this higher end version.

This is the ultimate perfume! At least for those who appreciate sweeter smells. Such a special one, different on everybody of course, but there''s something magical about Aqua e zucchero. The high concentration of perfume oil is probably what does it, and the unique combination of its ingredients is just WOW. Smelling it makes a perfume nerd like me relaxed, and im a very picky one. Usually i don''t even like vanilla, it''s crazy.Always get compliments for this one, from both men and females, and my boyfriends absolutely loves it. No artificial smell after a few hours like almost every other perfume i''ve tried, the sweet smell adapt and melts into your own skins smell. It even stays the same on unused textiles for months. Can''t praise this perfume enough, i dread the day they stop producing it. Buy it and love it, it''s more than worth the money!
By  on 2/22/2012
On me, this smelled *exactly* like Pink Sugar, which, if anything, is a testament to Pink Sugar rather than to Acqua e Zucchero.
By   - Editor  from Seattle on 8/3/2011
I commented some time ago about this perfume not being so special - but today I found out I have worn the sample till not a drop was left. So I backtrack and say it is nice and sweet AND original and even addicitve. The very best of this perfume is when you breathe on it and smell it from very close. It is SO warm and edible.
By   - designer from Diessen on 4/17/2011
This is a nice perfume, pleasant. I get lots of fresh berries and a not so sweet vanilla. On me this perfume doesn''t change much from the top notes to the dry down. I like it, though I find it a bit overpriced for what I am smelling. I do not find that it smelled anything like pink sugar btw. It''s sweet but not overly due to the berries smelling more tart than sweet. It''s much better than many of those mass marketed sweet perfumes. If makes me think of the color purple or fuschia, don''t ask me why. I would buy it if it wasn''t so expensive. Maybe I''ll just grab a couple more samples and make due for a while.
By   - from Puerto Rico on 3/8/2011
Two words: "Pink Sugar"....this smells JUST LIKE pink sugar for 98% of the time it''s on you. IMO it''s not worth paying the extra money, not at all. Get Pink sugar, and save the extra money for another fragrance. It is a nice sweet scent though.
By   - from California on 11/29/2010
I had really high expectations from this perfume - but on my skin, it smells very very similar to Lolita Lempicka. It IS nice and sweet, but on the cildish side of sweet and not that special either.
By   - designer from Diessen on 9/27/2010
Unfortunately, this DOES smell like Pink Sugar! I didn''t want to believe it when I read the reviews, but it really is true! There really isn''t much difference between the two scents to warrant the high price tag. I love Profumum Vanitas and was hoping to find something else from this line that I''d like. Too bad :o(
By   - from Honolulu, HI on 3/19/2010
orange scented cotton candy. not very unisex, or I might like it more.
By   - from Los Angeles on 2/11/2010
agree with the previous reviewers, exactly like pink sugar. good but might as well spend the $40 on p.s. rather than the over $200 on this.
By   - from Canada on 11/5/2009
Ok so it smells a lot like Pink Sugar "when you FIRST spray it", but the base dry down is completely different. And 1 spritz does the job till the next day. You''d have to carry Pink S with you and spritz several times to compete with the power of 1 spritz! If you love this scent you''d have to buy 5 bottles of Pink S to compete with longevity of 1 bottle of AeZ. So really its $6 cheaper than Pink S. LOL, Im a fan.
By  on 10/3/2009
Newp, not for me. A Pink Sugar dupe at 9 times the price.
By   - Sales from nashville on 6/18/2009
Really nice and soft scent but too light and flys away quickly, to me it is not worth the price...
By   - HR from ISTANBUL on 6/14/2009
I was so sad about this fragrance. I hoped so much that it wouldn''t smell EXACTLY LIKE PINK SUGAR, but I was sorely disappointed. I love the smell, but I''d rather go buy a huge bottle of pink sugar for 50 bucks, than shell out a ton of dough for this , it''s just too similar!! Try before you buy for sure!!
By   - stylist from Chicago, IL on 1/20/2009
This is the most interesting fragrance I have ever smelt! Needless to say I can''t stop smelling my arm. Yes, I''ll have to be just satisfied with the sample while I save up for this gem. On my skin, vanilla and that intense sugar covered almond aroma stands out - and reminds me of the coloured coated almonds you used to get at weddings and christenings when I was a young girl. The fragrance is sweet, warm & inviting, too safisticated for a young girl, but perfect for the young at heart! I purchased a few different samples cause I was looking for the ONE. It is smilar to Aqualina''s Pink Sugar but more intense and more interesting. AeZ stands high above the rest!
By   - Teacher from Australia on 11/17/2008
Yuck. I was so excited about this sample after reading all the rave reviews. But the berry goes very air-freshener fake and yucky on me. Something sharp, almost medicinal in the opening. Making me nauseas. My search for a "sweet" fragrance that doesn''t make me gag continues...
By   - grad student from NC on 11/17/2008
Eau Wow! This stuff smells truly delicious. It opens very sugary sweet, then the orange blossom and a hint of berries enter to make it all a bit more interesting, and finally it dries down to a lovely vanilla topped with powdered sugar. It is extremly similar to L by Lolita Lempicka, but one warning: if you own & enjoy L and don''t want to end up spending the big bucks for AeZ, then don''t try AeZ! ''Cause once you do, you all of a sudden notice the flaws in L, and will never be satisfied with L again. I used to enjoy L, but now I find it a bit musty and rough smelling with an uninteresting dry-down. Needless to say, I already ordered a full bottle of AeZ and am hoping my sample won''t run out till it gets here...
By   - translator from paris on 11/14/2008
Swoon! I would drench myself in this stuff if I could afford to! Sweet, delicious, and exquisite, Acqua e Zucchero is a well-blended, sophisticated fragrance that makes others want to come closer. Sugary without being cloying, the vanilla and orange blossom meld perfectly into a delicious dream. To the others on whom this smells too young, it''s probably just your chemistry don''t discourage others from sampling! On me this perfume is positively sexy!
By   - student from Chicago on 9/29/2008
I LOVE my sample. This is delicate and long-lasting. It doesn''t smell like that nauseatingly sweet Pink Sugar at all not one bit! I would wear it daily but I cannot justify buying with a price point that high. It should be available in smaller sizes. Beautiful and special, but sadly, WAY too expensive.
By  on 9/21/2008
I recently received my full bottle and I''m so glad I finally caved in. It''s a warm and enveloping scent that reminds me of my childhood (the good parts) and sometimes I need that. It''s definitely a grown up sweet fragrance, not for little girls. I love Acqua e Zucchero and will be wearing it forever.

This started off as a very sweet vanilla meringue, but I must admit that after a few minutes became more interesting and I could smell the orange blossom(?) I don''t think I''d purchase it - it''s just TOO sweet. If it wasn''t so expensive I''d buy it for my 10 year old daughter.
By   - from Greece on 1/31/2008
This does smell like pink sugar but better. It smells more expensive and is missing a note that made me not like pink sugar, so for these reasons I''ll give it a 5, even though it''s a little sweet for me but if someone walked by with it on I would think, "Mmmmm, yum..."
By   - stay home mom 27 from dewey, ok (bartlesville) on 1/27/2008
Finally purchased a full bottle after the sample. I love this! The staying power last to the next day and your clothes for days!!!!! It leaves you with a delicate vanilla with a hint of berry. I was so stressed about the price but I didn''t care had to have it. Worth every single penny. If you love vanilla this is must try.
By   - event planner from NJ on 12/17/2007
Sweet, sexy, exotic and so different from any vanilla out there! Love the sample cant stop sniffing my wrist. I gotta have it!!!! I found the ONE for my next collection. Now if I can just figure out how to spend $200 for a bottle of perfume! UGH.
By   - event planner from NJ on 12/10/2007
This works so well with my chemistry. People stop me and ask what are you wearing. I love it! men say things that are a bit risque but all in good fun. My favorite sweet scent that stays all day.
By   - marketing executive from New York on 11/18/2007
Unfortunately, this doesn''t smell like orange blossoms at all! Very disappointing. And I was hoping it wasn''t going to smell like Pink Sugar. Alot of the reviews before said it smells like Pink Sugar and I didn''t want to believe it. But it does! It does smell like Pink Sugar. YUCK! It has a real powdery smell to it on me. You know for what they are charging for this, it should have some orange blossom scent somewhere. Now that it''s been on me for one hour, I''m starting to get a headache. Sorry, but Fragnoud fleur de orange is 100 percent better, and it actually smells like orange blossoms. And cheaper too.
By   - from Bay Area, CA on 10/29/2007
I have to write this quick before this stuff makes me ill....terrible, yuck yuck....very artificial smelling vanillaberry, if you love car air fresheners you won''t even like this. Smells like fake raspberry mixed with the cheapest vanilla ick you can imagine. So disappointed, ew this is just awful. I hope this comes off, it literally is making me sick....
By   - Biotech from Providence, Rhode Island on 4/26/2007
I''m sorry but the drydown is spot-on Pink Sugar. There is just not enough of a difference to fork out that much money for. Pink Sugar is like $35..Save your money and try another one.
By  on 4/11/2007
It smells like candied orange rind I got once from a MediterraneanFrench restaurant. Yummy, but not the scent for me. It does last a long time.
By   - from Virginia on 4/6/2007
This is exactly exactly like pink sugar. I sprayed one on one wrist and one on the other and asked a friend who wears pink sugar to pick her scent and she picked aqua e zucchero! Actually, the only difference I could tell is that the bergamont comes out a bit more in pink sugar, whereas an anise smell comes out a bit more in aqua e zucchero--but unless they are side by side I cannot tell the difference.
By  on 3/29/2007
Incredible! I am NOT a fan of overly sweet scents but the dry down on this is phenomenal. The Orange Blossom balances out the sugar wonderfully. Sweet but not saccharine. Consider me a "sweet scent" convert on this one.
By   - from Massachusetts on 1/16/2007
this is very cheap and sweet smelling, like a gelatinous air freshener from the 80''s or a bad bathroom spray
By  on 1/3/2007
Just AWESOME!!!!!!!
By   - Stay at Home Mom from NYC on 12/24/2006
My, god! Jesus has arrived in a bottle--come bello!! This is so incredible that I cannot stop ordering samples! I am going to kill my fiance if he does not buy this for me for Christmas, seriously. This you must try by the temple, back of the ear and back of the knee for a full flooring effect of scent that will swoon everyone to craziness. My principal just looked really long at me when I swirled in. All the women are jealous even of me at 58---and you know what that means. Ladies, get your Man to honor your womanhood with this bottle.

Pink Sugar, that is what this remindes of after three hr. dry down.
By   - from Baltimore on 11/16/2006
OK. I tried this scent, and pretty much hate it. I was very excited to try it, so put some on, and a minute later I was furiously washing my wrists, to no avail. This scent''s orange blossom and berries made me sick to my stomache. Literally. This scent does have great lasting power, as it lasted almost 15 hours on dry skin after washing it several times. Skip it, in my opinion.
By   - Student from Manhattan, KS on 10/16/2006
kayliana, yes i too have worn all of the vanillas you mentioned...nice but no real lasting power. i was a original csp lover from when it first came out but now that they have gone more mainstream they don''t seen to smell as wonderful as they once did...anyway i did order a big beautiful bottle of zucchero and it is fantastic, lots of staying power and very sweet and it!
By  on 10/12/2006
Hollis... I feel I could write a book on all things vanilla, I love it so much! Especially when it comes to perfume that features it a main note. I have tried it all, and I mean from dept. stores to sites like this one, ebay, and beyond. I think I have about tried them all. I must admit NOTHING smells as good as this sweet confection! It is absolutely, in my opinion the best of the best. I know that $180 seems like alot but you must consider the 3.4 size of it and the lasting power and sillage is fantastic, you and everyone around you will think on it as a very wise investment. I got to wear this in New York recently and I had so many people begging for the name of it it was insane!! I guess while you''re saving up for this you could get yourself some Aqualina Pink Sugar to hold you over it is very similar. Or even Pilar and Lucy''s EFOS or if you''re into the chocolate side of vanilla, Serendipitious or CSP''s Amour de Cacoa. But as for me I''ll be layering on my beloved Zucchero for quite a while because all of them pale in comparison to this one!
By   - from Tampa, Fl on 10/7/2006
ok i love this fragrance...i purchased a couple of samples and it is amazing! i don''t feel comfortable paying 200.00 for a bottle of perfume but i would like to get something berry vanilla like this one...a couple of people mentioned other scents that are just as nice as this one but half the price...would you care to share them with a fellow vanilla lover???
By   - from san francisco,ca on 10/6/2006
Okay, I just have to rave a little more now that I''ve had my bottle a couple of days! This is the most amazing scent! I have gotten tons of compliments on this already! First of all the bottle is stunning, it''s massive and the color of the juice inside is gorgeous, it''s the color of an aged rum. Each spray is very generous and because of the transperency and superb blending of this scent I can spray it anywhere and EVERYWHERE! It''s so young, fresh and fun but mischevious and sexy all at the same time. It makes me smile everytime I wear it. (and apparently everyone else around me too:-) The staying power is fantastic. I hope Luckyscent will carry this forever if not I guess I''ll be moving to Rome so I never run out!!!!
By   - from Tampa, Fl on 9/28/2006
HG of sweet sexy scents. on my skin the berry scent lingers and it truly smells sugary but not overly little girl scent here. a sophisticated sweetness, not cloying. just a barest hint of vanilla, stays on forever. 3.4 oz goes a long way folks and i do not find it overpriced. I must say the experience of just the sample is not as amazing as spraying on the fragrance. i love the fiori d''ambra too, which is quite smoky. next...santalum
By   - beauty executive from nyc on 9/27/2006
This is one of the most amazing scents...right when I opened my sample vial the most glorious scent wafted up and I thought "This is it...the ONE!!" All the notes were well blended and I could detect a bit of orange blossom that made this more than just a fruity vanilla. The berries added a hint of crispness and freshness. One dab on my wrist and I was in heaven...for about an hour. The flowers faded and the fruit was a mere whisper and I was left with a sweet, uncomplicated and ordinary vanilla. I can''t rate this lower than a 4 because of the fantastic opening. I will enjoy my sample but will not purchase. I don''t believe that the quality or composition of the perfume warrant the pricetag.
By   - from APO on 9/27/2006
Really strong and it gave me such a headache. There are so many wonderful sweet vanilla fragrances out there, skip this one.
By   - Museum related work from NYC on 9/26/2006
Really yummy! At first I got a licorice type of smell but it dried down to a berry and light vanilla scent. This is definitely nice, however, I don''t find it to be unique or *that* special, especially not for the price. Don''t get me wrong, I''m willing to spend $$$ for a great fragrance...just not this one. There are other berry vanilla scents out there that are just as good but half the price.

I can''t believe I just ordered this! It''s so expensive!!! But I can''t stop thinking about it, it really is so unique. And strangely enough I can see myself wearing this straight through winter. Garanted, I live in florida so it never gets that cold. But there is something icy and also very warm to it. I love it. It does smell a lot like Pink Sugar to me but it''s missing all that bergamot and anise. It''s young and fresh but a little grown-up and very sexy. It might as well be me in a bottle! Yum, yum, YUM!!! If you''re into sweet you must try!
By   - from Tampa, Fl on 9/21/2006
Wow! To me it smells like a shirley temple, sweet and so, so yummy! I don''t know if it smells good enough to warrant that price tag but damn it''s yummy. Candylike, summery a bit like Pink Sugar to me. And Jo Ann, being a fellow vanilla lover you must share with us this special vanilla that has kept you''re loyality for 10 years.... for all us fragrance lovers you must spill it....??!!!
By   - from Tampa, Fl on 9/20/2006
This is a rather pleasant, light sugary vanilla with a nice berry base. Lasting power is ok, but to be honest, I just don''t think this warrants the ridiculous price tag. I''d consider a bottle if it was under $100.
By   - from NYC on 9/20/2006
i have been wearing the same amazing vanilla perfume for about 10 years, it is extremely hard to find and very special to is my signature scent. i recently purchased a sample of acqua e zucchero just out of curiosity and i am is a fantastic scent! i smell the vanilla first off and it is a beautiful creamy vanilla and then the fruity berries take over but mixed with the vanilla....i have to have this fragrance! its going to take me awhile because of the price but i think this might be my new scent for fall....thank you for bringing this to us....
