I must admit, I found this one a little disappointing and I really wanted to like it. I think there is too much going on with the ingredients. Something about the opening is REALLY off-putting and I can't put my finger on it.

A beautifully crafted perfume, even at first sniff. I love unique, transportive perfume and this is it. Flowers, fruit, and warm spices make me think of having a meal on a tropical beach. This is something I'd probably only wear for special occasions, because of its sophistication.

The immortelle, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg just destroyed this. The other notes were blissful and well executed and blended, but the spice addition made it irritating.

OMG- amazingly sexy, tropical (but not at all beachy or suntan lotion-y; it's a different kind of tropical all together- like the difference between the locals & the tourists), & diffusive. The amount of compliments I get wearing this just confirms it's delicious originality & it's intriguing allure. It's expensive- which adds to it's inaccessibility- but then precious few will be smelling like you...

I sampled this almost 2 years ago, and I have not been able to forget it. It is a green perfume with a tropical twist, so it is fresh, and it has that touch of banana in it that smells so real! I know I will cave in and buy it soon.

I discovered The Different Company when I was travelling in France last year and picked up a bottle of Osmanthus. I had read good things about Aurore Nomade (some of the other reviews for other perfumes from TDC seem to be quite varied) so thought I would try a sample and OMG I LOVE. I imagine I will smell more of the top notes more succinctly in a spray over the dabbing application. I have been wearing it for 4 hours now and it is not excessive but has good sillage and, so far, good staying power. I can smell upfront the spices, rum, amber, vanilla and musk. Lurking at the back is a sweet marine note that I only notice perhaps every third whiff. I can smell food - maybe it is the 'rotting fruit' people describe - but to me it smells like a warm fruit cake? It is glorious and I think I could it wear it all year round. A second wear will tell if I will buy a bottle - $230 for 50ml is quite pricey so I will have to gauge if this is burned onto my olfactory memory so much so that I could simply not resist it.

Stunning! Sweet and incredibly delicious, it's like indulging in a boozy spicy tropical drink on a warm sunny beach, ocean spray and all. Tropical fruit, banana, marine notes, sweet spices, and a touch of wood and florals. A wonderful, sweet yet refreshing complex fragrance perfect for summer.

Fantastic and unusual tropical scent.Bertrand Duchafour seems to specialize in the weird and offbeat category of perfumes. He seems to be willing to take a risk and push the envelope by adding an element or a note to his perfumes that give them a challenging edge that if not seamlessly blended could result in an olfactory disaster. In Aurore Nomade I believe it’s the slightly rotting smell of fruit esters and indole in the background that permeate the scent.Combined with the humid veneer of tropical blossoms and the spicy element added by the cinnamon and rum notes it could be a hot mess. But add to that some aquatic notes and somehow it all works. It’s like a realistic scent impression of standing on the beach in the tropics with the intermingling smells of the tropical flowers, the beach,a distant jungle rot,and a refreshing tropical drink assaulting you all at once. It’s brilliant,it’s transporting and is a fantastic Summer scent.

Can't say I liked this one... It opened with a strong citrus component, which quickly developed into a roasted chestnut accord. Then, there was a dark, tree bark scent. So far, so good... then, something went wrong. There was this cloying, unidentifiable something tot he scent that I've found in Christian Dior's "Dune". It made me kind of ill. And I so wanted to like it. The dry-down is kind of pretty, though---once it gets past the stank that pervades it about an hour in...

Oh, this is delicious! Big bright sweet berry notes. Amazing.

Sweet mother of all that is good and holy...this is the sexiest bottle of rotting fruit salad I can imagine purchasing. It's all esters and sin under a veneer of tropical blossoms. Great persistence, manageable sillage.
