Louis XV 1722 - Xerjoff

Louis XV is a collaboration between Xerjoff and House of Vénage which is a wine library based in the Champagne region of France and this fragrance celebrates the French king Louis XV and his love for sparkling champagne. Of course there is a wonderful sparkle in here. I think it's the grapefruit that's doing that. But at the heart of this scent is lavender which is going to be the heart of all fougeres. This is a very classic fougere. It smells like a sophisticated distinguished gentleman. Something about the combination of these notes is creating something that smells like sage to me. And when I wear this scent I feel that there's a leather note that comes in and out of focus. It's pretty surprising and gives so much structure to this fragrance.
