L'Eau des Sacres by Reims Parfums by Luckyscent.com Water of the Sacrament or of the Rite. So I thought, oh, maybe we're gonna get a lot of incense in there and get something kind of churchy. And I always go for those kinds of fragrances. And sure enough, this scent does have some frankincense, a very nice lemony frankincense on the top. But what's fascinating about this fragrance is how it pivots from light to dark, from feminine to masculine and back. It just keeps going in different directions and that was unexpected to me. And really something more I'm used to with classical perfumes, just full of complexity and elegance. This is definitely that. It begins with this very pretty violet and lavender with a touch of rose. But I know with the dry down, it goes more into a soft amber feel. And I think that is from the Tonka bean, which has a nice creaminess, but also sandalwood. In fact, there's something about the dry down that reminds me a little bit of Ambergris from Belman, which was a fragrance that had a big cult following, really interesting unisex amber sandalwood. And yet this has its own personality. I love that it's so complex, but I would expect nothing less from this perfumer Bertrand Duchaufort, who's just one of the best perfumers working right now. Give it a try, especially if you love those more complex, elegant classical style perfumes. L'eau des Sacres from France.
