Today I'm going to talk about Guimauve de Noel. This is by Parle Moi de Parfum. Now, I don't know what time of year it is when you're watching this, but as you can probably see, we are geared up in holiday mode right now. And Guimauve de Noel translates as Christmas marshmallow. So what better fragrance to put on and talk about than this? What interested me was this brand makes another fragrance called Milky Musk, which is actually the star from the brand, at least in Scentbar. We all love it. It's a really simple, transparent sandalwood that's super easy to wear. And really good sandalwoods are sometimes difficult to come by. But then my colleague, Yvette, was in Paris recently and spoke to the folks over at Parle Moi de Parfum. And they said, it's so funny that Milky Musk is your top seller because everywhere else, it's Guimauve de Noel. So when she told me this, I thought, I need to give this more attention. I think I'm overlooking it. So I've been wearing it lately. And it's so nice. I completely understand why it's such a big hit for the brand. It's designed by Michel Ermairach, such a good perfumer. And the main things going on in this fragrance are orange blossom and vanilla. Now, it's not the first time I've smelled that combination before. In fact, Ceville La Loeb from L'Artisan Parfumers, maybe even Fuzion Sacre from Madge de Bacali kind of work with that orange blossom with vanilla. But there's something about this version that I find really pleasing and maybe more unisex. Maybe the other is verge. No, I take that back because the Madge de Bacali is actually called Pour Nuit, so it's intended as a masculine. But on me, whatever, I find this to be just the right amount of sweetness and just the right amount of orange blossom. Now, in France, they have a very specific relationship with the smell of orange blossom. It's used a lot. Orange blossom water can be used to flavor cakes and cookies and nice desserts. But also, it can be poured into the bath and you just associate that smell with comfort and home. So when you need a little bit of comfort in home, you spritz on some Guillemot de Noël. On the Lucky Scent website, it describes this fragrance as a puff of orange blossom scented air sprinkled with sugar crystals. I mean, how great is that? But it's subtle. That's what I like about this. I feel something that's a little bit sweet like this can really take over and get a little bit cloying. And it's not that. There's something wispy about this fragrance. I mean, marshmallow is a good word because you think of that frothiness, just full of air. And this definitely has that. So I sprayed this about an hour ago and I just get a really fantastic balance of orange blossom and vanilla. And I know in past wearings that I just love the whole run of it. And this is going to be my holiday scent, Guillemot de Noël from Palmois de Parfum. .
