Calamity J. is the fourth episode in the Juliette Has a Gun scent collection. A masculine inspired fragrance exclusively dedicated to women, Calamity J. embodies a unique type of femininity. Creator Romano Ricci envisioned an escape from the traditional perfume stereotypes. Calamity Jane is the inspiration behind the fragrance Calamity J., which is the iconic representation of a masculine yet carnal Juliette. There is something of the dandy about this perfume, masculine yet sophisticated. A soft woodsy top note becomes increasingly sensual with amber and iris at its heart. Although an eau de parfum concentrated, the fragrance remains soft and only develops its volume once in contact with the warmth of the skin.

I really love this scent. Its warm and sweet. On me it smells like cinnamon cookies. And i like to layer it with "Not A Perfume"

This is a 5-star, sexy, sultry, bad girl fragrance with 2-star staying power. If you like amber with a little bit of patchouli and a warm vanilla-ish dry-down, this is for you...that is, if you don't mind re-spritzing 3X/day. I think most of us who lean toward amber/woods/spicy expect to still be sniffing our wrists 5 hours later, but not this one - it's almost completely gone in 2 hours. If this lasted longer, I'd give it 5 stars with no hesitation. Would be great if Juliette made a Calamity body lotion or creme to give it the extra staying power it really needs.

Nice, warm, vanilla, powder and amber scent. Somebody mentioned 'nutty' and I agree. Not very strong no great sillage, but works nicely on my skin chemistry.

I love this scent! My sister had it and told me I should try it. I'm so glad I did. It's much better after the dry down and stays with you all day. Worth every penny!

I would defintely label this an amber scent. A soft, cozy veiled amber. Reminiscent of Ambra del Nepal. This one is really growing on me!

i am really liking this scent, and every time I wear it I like it more...but the problem is, I can't smell it after I've put it on. After just a few moments of bliss, poof! All the vanilla, soft spices, etc are gone. Is it me? It's the only thing keeping me from buying a big old bottle of the stuff (I have a sample). Maybe spraying would be better?

Maybe it's just me but I found this to have a resemblance to Donna Karans Chaos, which is one of my all time favorites! Definitely some differences but lovely all the same!

Perfect balance of all notes. Vanilla does not take over. Musk is true smelling and the patchouli is dry and rich. Very wearable.

Calamity J is a very soft fragrance. I think that worn in a more humid or warmer climate than I am enjoying in Jan in WI :-) it would really shine. With that said, I do love this. If I am doing something and increase my activity I found the scent "bloomed" on my warmed skin and become more pronounced. That is why I think a humid environment might bring out the most of this fragrance. I do recommend this and am thoroughly enjoying it.
