Datura is a SINCERE floral, an earnest floral, and that is why it is weird. It is genuine flower petals instead of "smelling like" flower petals. Genuine gardens are splashy with color, with birds getting into bird-squabbles, buzzy bugs zooming around pollen-drunk, and this scent feels like that. Familiar and full of life. It may not be "challenging," but it is pretty and it is good. I think the average ScentBar reviewer comes here for the super off-the-beaten path fragrances, and that is great (me too), but what Mecheri does is allow you to toe the line. While reminiscent of more mass-produced fragrances, it does them all "just a little weird," or off-beat. Anyone venturing away from dept store perfume would do well to start here.

I agree with the reviewer who noted that it takes a long time to dry down into a fragrance thats only a little better. I am the only reviewer who has noted a powdery scent. If you love powder fragrances, this will make you happy. I do smell a little vanilla but not enough to compliment the white datura fragrance. There is only a hint of fruity vanilla on top of the base.

This is gorgeous to me. A very full floral, sweet vanilla underneath and keeps an odd very narcotic green wierdness the whole time. It makes me think of dancing on a hot humid night, outside. Not timid. Not cozy. Very sexy IMO but for summer nights more than any other time.

I don't like the initial application of this and it takes a long time to dry down into a fragrance thats only a little better. Its very light, it doesn't last very long, and on me, it just smells like a pretty fruity vanilla on top of a base of that typical cheap chemical aerosol type smell. Its not a bad fragrance, but its certainly not one that I would buy either.

This is essentially Hanae Mori Butterfly with a different name. Lot of sweetness. I don't get any florals at all. Not bad for people who like sweet scents, but not what I was intending to wear.

I love this perfume! It's so grown up and mysterious. I love it's sweetness cause it's not an-in-your-face kind of sweet. The bitter almond smells so good blended with the calm vanilla. It isn't very floral on my skin but you can tell there are some flowers in it. It is amazing!!! I would recommend a sample to see for yourself.

I love the complexity of this scent as it transforms throughout the day, from slightly overly sweet tropical to more subtle urban. I would give it a 5 rating but it gives me a headache when I first apply it. For those who are sensitive,I recommend trying a sample first.
