Giant lotus pads part to make way for buds that pierce the surface of the jade green pond. They raise their faces to the sun, their delicate fragrance floating around them. Hints of rice, powdery iris, and mimosa diffuse from within a lush shroud of green, beneath the intimate aroma of an imminent summer shower. Dragonfly encapsulates the richness and romance of impressionism, a canvas of florals under a watery veil.

What We Think

Reborn in 2021, Dragonfly still boasts an enchantingly pretty bouquet of smooth flower petals floating atop fresh water, but now signature notes of wild green herbs and a touch of powdery rice and iris add a striking accent to this distinctive but wearable floral.

BLOWN AWAY! I took a chance as I am not usually a floral, green girl, but I am an aquatic fan. The first I have smelled of this fragrance house and I was skeptical bc I heard how hard to wear some of these were. This is so different and fresh. I get no grapefruit or basil, but I do get the green angelica seed & moss forward first. The aquatic flowers sit right below the green and then another layer of geranium, rose, violet peek through. The cashmeran and benzoin balance out the the grassy vetiver bed with their warm, powdery musk. The rolling scent layers repeat and refresh. Equal parts aquatic, green floral. AMAZING. 100% buy for the spring and summer.

This is such a fun house. On my skin, Dragonfly begins with notes of soda and candy powder, turns a bit — I don't know how to describe it but since the name was in my head, the word I landed on was 'buggy' — then fades smoothly. There's something funky going on, out of the ordinary, but not offensive.

I can see why Dragonfly is so popular! The peony and rainwater in the opening is so light and gorgeous. The lemony aldehydes are short lived but just enough to have another burst of freshness. Dragonfly settles down to an airy powdery iris note with hints of lotus, rice, and clover flitting gently in the breeze. Warm amber, velvety musk, and soft moss bring Dragonfly to a close.

Aquatic, fresh, green, airy florals. This is quite unique, I like the rice note. I think this a soft, feminine fragrance with good sillage and longevity. I think it's perfect for spring or for the office.

I loved the sample so much that I got a bottle ASAP. The cleanest opening ever-- rainwater and waterlily, followed by something powdery, nutty, and floral. Breaks the rule that the best smelling scents are the shortest lasting- very strong and lasts. It's a unisex scent but may be too daring for most guys, but a must have for a Dandy like me!

I rarely hand out the 5 stars. But this time I did. The fresh, watery opening of Dragonfly is so lovely, I don't even care about the drydown. The scent manages to layer cool-fresh-watery-floral (the floral reminds me of freesia) for quite a while, on top of a warmer, dryer base. That's the image that popped to mind...a flower floating on a pond. With, of course, jeweled dragonflies hanging motionless above. Feminine, but not too sweet. Best of my latest sample batch.

BEAUTIFUL... this fragrance is absolutely stunning and simply beautiful. I am far from an expert in perfumery, but Mr. Wong and his talented perfumers truly stand out in a very crowded field. The Zoologist perfume line is exquisite in their ideology as well as the perfumes they create. When I wear Dragonfly I feel incredibly beautiful and see the world in the same way. This may sound a bit dramatic, but this is a fragrance that possess such magic. As stated above... stunning and simply beautiful.

I have been ordering samples from Luckyscent for many many years, and this time around I included two from Zoologist (Hummingbird and Dragonfly). Each of them is fresh, distinctive, perfectly balanced, fascinating, lovely and evocative. These are two of the best fragrances I have ever experienced and my next move will be to try all of the Zoologist fragrances and hope that the artist behind them expands his repertoire to include something like Botanist, Epicure, Thespian, etc. These are really extraordinary fragrances.

all three samples were outstanding. i have never been this excited about a perfume . this CAPTURES literally an early morning .. green and fresh.. NOT a perfume at all but a journey... sometimes fragrance amazes you so much there are no words. normally i love my warm spice blends but this ... changed my mind. i appreciate the mission statement behind this line as well. makes it even more coveted.
