In Saint Petersburg during the time of Peter the Great, Russia's most skilled master tanners had developed a legendary technique that allowed them to produce the strongest, finest, most elegant leather in the world to date. Made from Siberian reindeer hide, its distinctive purple hue made this "Noble Leather" completely one of a kind. in the 18th century, a ship laden with this invaluable cargo was headed for Genoa when it shipwrecked, dooming its rare treasure to the bottom of the ocean for centuries, until it was discovered and revitalized by French artisans. When a few strips of this precious purple leather made their way to Pierre Guillaume, he knew he had the inspiration for something special, so he used it to create a one-of-a-kind fragrance, independent of all prior collections, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fragrance house.
