The Scoop
It's 11:12 PM. The lights turn pink, a guitar riff cracks through the air, and somewhere in the crowd, a bubble pops. That's the world Pierre-Constantin Guéros has built with Heavy Bubblegum, a fragrance that weaponizes nostalgia and turns it into something surprisingly sophisticated.
The opening is exactly what the name promises: a bold, unapologetic bubblegum accord laced with the waxy sweetness of lipstick. It's playful and retro, but never cheap. As it settles, a cool, juicy watermelon heart softens the sugar rush, giving the scent an airy, almost dewy dimension. Then the base arrives and reframes everything, rose oxide brings a metallic, slightly dark edge, while vanilla and white musk round it out into something genuinely skin-like and intimate.
The genius here is the contrast. For a fragrance called Heavy Bubblegum, it wears light. The sweetness is real, but the rose oxide accord keeps it in check, giving it an almost post-punk coolness. Think concert afterglow: pink spotlights, the scent of something sweet still on your lips.
Unisex. Best for: evening, cooler weather, anyone who refuses to take themselves too seriously.
