The Scoop
When Spanish sailors first explored Cuba in 1492, they returned with accounts of towering forests, exotic chattering birds, and men and women going about "from place to place with a firebrand of weeds in their hands to take in the fragrant smoke." Before long, Spanish colonists in the New World were growing and smoking tobacco, and as the demand spread, the curious weed became a global profit powerhouse- with all the historic and moral implications contained within.
Cuban Tobacco is an olfactive journey through the early history of factory-processed tobacco, embodying the aromas of this wonderful and perilous plant at its best. Sparkling mandarin orange and an intoxicating mojito accord provide a bright and buoyant opening, while jasmine and plum wine intertwine with robust fresh and toasted tobacco notes balanced with the salty brine of the Caribbean sea.
