Paris, a Christmas evening in 1882. Snow has been falling since dusk, and the city glows with the amber light of oil lamps and candles. Then a door opens. In the entrance hall, the cold is shaken from overcoats as guests arrive from the frozen streets. Beyond heavy curtains, flames flicker across wood panelling, and the fireplace glows red with embers. But it is a fragrance that truly welcomes the arrivals: the scent of gingerbread, still warm, resting on a porcelain platter.
Candied orange opens with soft, luminous sparkle, immediately bright and tender. Beneath the gingerbread's delicate coat of sugar icing, honey and cinnamon mingle their sweetness, while nutmeg and clove lend their warming spice. As the fragrance develops, warm gingerbread settles into a creamy, honeyed base that feels like being wrapped in the comfort of home. Armchairs drawn closer to the fire, cups passed around, children waiting for a second slice. The windows mist over. Outside, the snow keeps falling. Cantique de Noël preserves that memory of an open door, of flames keeping watch through the night, of simple happiness at last.
Handcrafted in France in 100% plant-based, palm oil-free wax within a Limoges porcelain vessel. Approximately 90 hours of burn time.
