Knight of Oud is the story of a warrior travelling the world to establish an army of the best oud oil from across his travels. This adventure begins in the Trat region of Thailand, where the oud is characterized by a very pleasant sweet smell that perfectly pairs with the earthy, semi-gourmand warmth of tonka bean. The journey then moves to Prachin, where the oud is characterized by a smoky floral smell complimented beautifully with narcotic jasmine, and then to the Chintaburi region, where the almost unctuously rich oud presents a unique pairing challenge, ultimately combining with potent tobacco and aged leather. Moving from Thailand to Burma, our hero discovers the most distinctive oud of all in the Machina region- as potent as Indian oud and as sweet as many of the Thai offerings, pairing with rich, creamy Mysore sandalwood.
