I was looking for cardamom and was foiled by, I suppose, body chemistry. It smelled like cardamom in the bottle, like cardamom and other cool notes on paper, but not, at all, on me. When applied, no single note stood out. It smelled "like" perfume. Or as my husband put it, "It's meta. I'm picturing a perfumer who set out to create a fragrance that evoked the perfume counter of a Macy's. But, like, every smell. Just the whole experience, itself." Woodsy sultry, g-ma powder, teenybop saccharine, masc aqua, all present, if noncommittal. So, this gets 3 stars because it's really not bad, unless it doesn't like you. And it doesn't lose stars for that second thing since you, like me, will save money for a different perfume. Wins all round.

I'm in love with everything Gris Charnel. Wish they made a bubble bath of these scents. I have both the extrait and the edp, and to my nose, the extrait is much more masculine. It starts with a distinct aftershave note and has less sweetness on the dry down. Absolutely stunning on my guy. I suggest all versions of Gris Charnel. Fantastic.

I really enjoy the blend of notes. I think the most prominent note is fig. It is hard to pick out the other notes. The fragrance just smells very warm like an old wool sweater.

I recently discovered and fell in love with the original Gris Charnel at first sniff - my first successful blind purchase. Just a few days after I purchased the original, I got wind of the Extrait version and ordered it as soon as I got the email notification from luckyscent. I am so thrilled to report that my second blind buy is even better than the original which is so hard for me to believe! I love EVERYTHING about this scent! I get a ton of cardamom, tea, super earthy and delectable vetiver, fig, and vanilla! It is beautifully blended! My husband and adult son have been sneaking in sprays from my bottle! I love it! Worth every penny! ??

Great scent. I bought both the edp and extrait here on luckyscent and was eager to compare the two. my initial take on the edp was really good on the first spray but dissipated rather quickly but when I sampled the extrait it was a lot longer lasting on my skin. imo the extrait reminded me of Nishane's Fan Your Flames but a bit smoother idk why but that's just how it smelled on my skin. a winner for BDK for sure but please sample first, everyone's skin is different so just take my review with a grain of salt. Solid release by the company.

I know it sounds crazy, but this version is actually BETTER smelling than the original EDP. Now, I do have one gripe: I think ALL of the house should have been at this strength (30%) at the get-go. Cardamom and vanilla are my favorite notes, so it is a natural thing that I would fall in love with this. It starts out with a lovely spicy, but not too sweet aroma and somewhere it goes peppery and finishes off with vanilla. The original only lasts 3 hours, but this one lasts 8+hours. Highly recommend. Can you please do a 30% with Creme de Cuir and Rouge Smoking please?
