This should have been named “Holy Smoke” because it smells so good. I am getting a bigger bottle.

A nice take on a smoky vanilla. This leans into creamy, rooty orris tones that remind me of some Celine fragrances. It's like a soft leather, with a delicate cleanliness, and an earthy, balsamic tonka, lending some sweetness. I get something a bit agrestic too - hay, butter, grass, all of which also remind me of Iris Malikhan by Maison Crivelli, but not as intensely animated. It's not super sweet either, so gourmand-avoidant types can relax (that's me). Anyways, a great addition to the lineup and something I'm considering even though I usually pass on vanillas. Really refined and has a nice evolution of layers. The white florals are hard to pick out, but they're doing some magic I'm sure.

I definitely get leathery vanilla upon first sniff. I actually don't know if I've ever smelled anything like this! It's very unique and very beautiful. A mix of warm and cool, although I could see myself wearing this more in colder months. At the end of the first day wearing this, I can say it might be full bottle worthy for me! It wasn't a super powerful fragrance, but I kept smelling my clothes so that I could get a whiff. I have Akro Ink which was my intro to leathery smoky fragrances. I would say that I like this one a touch better as it is a bit more complex for me. The sweetness from the tonka bean comes through during the drydown for me, which is a nice surprise element. It reads a little like cardamom to me. This is so nice :)
