Here's what other people are saying about Tokyo...
Hinoki, wasabi, and yuzu meant that I was going to try this fragrance no matter who offered it, but Gallivant’s really good at these city-inspired offerings to boot. The good news is that the “exotic” notes aren’t just bolted on, but work with the floral-woody structure that says Big City On A Good Day. (I particularly liked how the iris slipped in and out of focus ever so slightly out of sync with the rose I have definitely walked down that street.) The drydown, replete with cardamom, moves into a pleasant cedar-amber space, though it saves a few surprises for later with an occasional whiff of clean laundry. (But isn’t every day better with clean laundry?) A strong 4.

I love this, initially recommended by a friend who knows I like woody spicy. I bought the Nomad discovery set and this was my favorite, along with Naples. The hinoki, pepper, incense, and cardamom last most clearly on my skin. This has become my cold weather go-to.

Tried a sample, then ordered a full bottle. I love incense fragrances but most are too heavy for me to wear. On me, Tokyo is a creamy, slightly sweet incense with a hint of citrus. A favorite - I find myself reaching for this one frequently.

I am looking for yuzu scent for a while. This sounded like that could be it. I get a brief initial note of citrus and black pepper, immediately followed by a cardamom bomb. Not a soft, citrusy spice, but an acrid, intensely chemical cardamom that remains present for a long time. There is no development of any other notes, maybe some nutmeg towards the end. I didn’t get any of the incense or woods in the dry down. Could be just my skin chemistry, but I would definitely try this one first before buying.

This fragrance sounded unique and exciting based on the description, but sadly when I tried it, it smelled to me like a generic men’s department store fragrance. Scrubber for me.
