The Scoop

Voix Humaine 8 is inspired by Vox Humana, a type of reed stop on the organ designed to impressionistically imitate the human voice. When pressed, this stop has the tone of a soprano hitting a high note, a sound that seems to linger in the air long after the other notes fade. Accordingly, Voix Humaine 8 takes dry, peppery incense and infuses it with a cool, white floral milk, giving it the sweet edge of a singed marshmallow. Musky ambrette seed and a mousseline accord lend the texture a cashmere softness that tempers the dark incense. If you take your incense with a dash of cream and sugar, then make this a priority.

As noted by others, the description does not do this one justice. The olibanum plays so beautifully with the bergamot and vanilla to make this...beyond words. No toasted marshmallow here. It leans slightly toward that "wood pudding" fragrances that I simply cannot get enough of (like Eau Duelle) but this has a lighter touch, and the musk has a slightly messy hair, sultry vibe to round out the edges and make this a little less snuggly and a little more leather corset. The ambrette brings in a skin scent vibe so it lifts and floats without being heavy at all. Gorgeous.

Addictive incense. Gorgeous dry peppery incense with a touch of sweetness via marshmallows. Not a combination I thought I would like but I sure was wrong. Description doesn’t do this justice.

This is the seetest and gentlest of the incense trio by SAUF. It has a touch of flowers, of honey, and lots of sunlight. Another phenomenal incense perfume, I had a hard time deciding whether to buy this one or the Contre Bombarde. I'd love it if the 3 came in a 10ml coffret, so I could have one of each (hint, hint!).

Boy this is nice. Light church incense/frankincense at first, but with a sweetness, then moves into almost—almost—a fruity sweetness, but still right underneath the light incense. If it were a stronger, longer-lasting fragrance I would give it a 5. Really good.
