Dusita Discovery Set

This is the best sample set of any brand I have tried, and I have tried many niche brands over the years. Dusita perfumes are the highest quality, stunning florals and other great fragrances that are expertly crafted. Every fragrance in the set is excellent and had good longevity on my skin. My favorites are Moonlight in Chiangmai, Douceur de Siam and Erawhan. Pavillion d'Or and Issara are wonderful fragrances also. All are full bottle worthy.

Definitely in the vein of what I like to call Instagram Influencer fragrances: Elegant and pretty white noise olfactory mash ups (jasmine and woods are a common theme) that are highly unlikely to offend either the wearer or anyone in their orbit. Nor get them all that excited. Even after giving each sample a good try over the course of several days, I don't think I'd be able to identify any of them if I sniffed them blindfolded, nor can I conjure up in my head what any single one of them smells like.

Are these samples watered down or are these fragrances deliberately conceived to be this impressionistic? Most of them only lingered on my skin for 20–30 minutes before either disappearing entirely or settling into a thin, nondescript mash of fragrance through which maybe only a couple of the strongest notes occasionally peeked out. These are for sure elegant-smelling, very pretty and likely not to offend either the wearer or anyone in their orbit—and I admire the PR savvy of the woman behind their creation—but honestly, to my nose they are not worth the hype. Or the money—not for fragrances that smell more like what you'd use to scent a luxury hand lotion in a boutique hotel, rather than a groundbreaking perfume.
