Monoscent E

I 'm truly surprised that I am the first to review this one, seeing as minimalistic fragrances have been trending for awhile now. If you are a fan of fragrances such as Molecule 01, JHAG Not a Perfume, Le Labo Another 13, etc., this is really a must try. I have been a die hard wearer of Molecule 01 for years, and I have to say that Monoscent E is right up there for me, as far as a true love goes. It is even, dare I say, smoother and silkier than Molecule 01. I now own both and will continue to own both, as long as I can get both. Still can't wrap my head around why this is not talked about more. It's a good one.

Going from the sample. This is simply a copy of Escentric Molecules 01. It's just ISO E Super. Nothing to see here

I like woody scents, but was looking for something a little softer than bois d'ascese. This was not it. This is a note I recognize from a lot of mens fragrances as something I really dislike. Even though it doesn't smell like rubbing alcohol, it always brings it to mind. There's something kind of sharp and tangy about it, even at drydown. Kind of surprised that the reviews for monoscent G reference this as the better, more coveted of the pair. I don't think of this as a unisex scent, because it's such a common note in popular men's fragrances. I just can't separate it from a gendered idea of fragrance.
