Josh Lobb knocked it out of the park again. This is quintessential autumn in a bottle. Every single note is in its perfect place, and the woodsy drydown is heaven.

The way hot cider pairs well with crisp weather, MOND is Hygge-approved art in a bottle. Got the sample, smelled bubblegum but I know Slumberhouse has tricks up its sleeve so I dabbed it on. Two hours later I was getting hits of melting beeswax (the real stuff) — a little sweet (not sugary) tartness, a little tannic, a tad bitter (like apple peel), some resin (not overpowering), and some spiciness (also not overpowering). Even though it doesn't project far (I got a sample, but still) the staying power is no joke, your skin but better and with more character than most "ysbb" fragrances. I think of it as a gentler "La Liturgie des Heures" (by Jovoy Paris), and would be a great fit for someone who loved that, as well. What a wonderful MOND.

Hay, tobacco, and the dirt of a barn floor. For a brief moment, this fragrance created an olfactory screenshot of autumn in rural American when family farms raised burley tobacco. I was utterly and completely amazed that this perfume smelled like fall/winter in a tobacco stripping room--I hadn't smelled that in over 20 years. It quickly passed, and the scent of spiced apples came to the forefront with hints of other spiced fruits, something boozy with a bit of vanilla in the background. Unless you're a Slumberhouse fan and like Kiste, Fjerne, etc., this is not a safe blind buy. Until drydown, the perfume could be mistaken for potpourri--the scent of fried apple pies is unmistakable at times. That said, I love this.
