Gold opens with invigorating freshness, as juicy green mandarin finds a fiery companion in a bouquet of pink pepper, sweet clove, and aromatic rosemary. A complex heart of florals and even more spices soon follows, the lushness of jasmine absolute charged with a sensual flow of exotic resins and spicy cinnamon that lead into the dreamlike, romantic base of vanilla, tonka, castoreum and myrrh. SOTD. Gold (Puredistance) Discreet, sophisticated Woody Aromatic Chypre composition. It opens with citrus aromatic notes of mandarin, bergamot, and slight hints of pepper and clove. The heart is labdanum prominent with hints of jasmine, geranium and cinnamon. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of myrrh, benzoin and vetiver with slight hints of patchouli, vetiver, styrax and castoreum. In spite of several ingredients this is a relatively light unisex fragrance with moderate sillage and projection and average longevity. Not overwhelming like say Diaghilev, but an absolutely criterion grade woody chypre composition.

Thought I'd try this because the scent profile sounded interested. I'm slightly disappointed to say that this smells like a regular perfume - the kind that you might smell when walking into the perfume section of a department store. It has a touch more of a feminine aspect to it, though it is supposed to be "uni-sex." I imagine this scent on an older, more mature woman. It isn't particularly sweet or "bubble-gum" like. It is quaint, sensual, and elegant. However, there isn't a lot of complexity. Just a nice smelling perfume. Perfect for evening dinner dates and close encounters.
