The Scoop

From the Orient, oud conveys mystery and sensuality. From Laos, its land of origin, it draws purity and refinement. This extrait de parfum interpretation is built on a dream of oud—a supremely elegant, precious and rare natural ingredient. It has wrapped itself in a musk and vanilla accord that releases a harmony of spicy rich aromas. An olfactory treasure born of sand, wind and gold.

What We Think

The extrait version proves that Mr. Kurkdjian knows how to take the wonderful EDP version of the Oud to a deeper, darker and more sensual territory. More intense resins are balanced with the savory saffron note and a feathery-soft vanilla accord that adds to the plushness. Not overly sweet or cloying, Oud Extrait continues to evolove over time with great sillage and longevity. A fantastic oud reference.

YES! Yes. Yes. This scent just screams expensive and poised. It warms on the skin after about an hour to a creamy powdery masterpiece.

Wow, this is pure magic in a bottle. Love at first sniff for me; man that's one smooth operator. Very unique from other Ouds out there, and i have quite a few in my collection. Unparalleled longevity, and i get all the notes as described on my skin. I'm not a big fan of BC540, I like Grand Soir, but this one is MFK's gift to mankind...go for it

while I'm not that knowledgeable about all the different elements that go into a parfum I do know what smells good and what I like. this one is right up there. it's sweet and dark and makes for a very romantic evening. at $375 it's a bit extravagant but my girlfriend purrs like a kitten when I wear it and says she can't wait to get me home from a date. this is what makes it worth every penny.
