Scent Bar Staff Video Review for Eau Duelle - Eau de Parfum

Video Transcript

Eau Duelle is one of my all-time favorite vanillas, and I love vanillas of all varieties. I like sticky, syrupy, intense, flirty. This I would call an earthy, clean vanilla. It has a beautiful list of notes accompanying the vanillas. There's a bourbon vanilla, and then a more sparkling, heady, bright vanilla note. But it also has olebonum, frankincense, and then cipril, and cardamom.

So it has this cool dryness to all of the surrounding notes, and then a rich smokiness with the bourbon vanilla. There's a black tea in the base, along with amber, and a white musk. So what it does for me is it feels at the same time both earthy and sparkling and effervescent. There is a dryness, but also a comforting quality to this.

I highly recommend it if you want a subtle vanilla or a summertime vanilla, because it's not too heavy, it's not too rich. It kind of reminds me of, in the spice section, buying the vanilla pods straight from the grocery stores and grating them for baking. It smells very real and natural. The other thing it reminds me of is the flecks of vanilla in the Breyers ice cream that I used to love as a kid. So I love wearing this.

Now this was released in 2010. They also launched an EDP form in 2013 with their eau de parfum. They tweaked it a little bit. It's slightly darker, richer, and more anamolic, almost, in the way that it wears. So I feel like this might even be a great option for a more masculine style.

They both are beautiful. I really can't pick between the two. In fact, I like to wear both on different days and even at the same time. So try both.

All I get is alcohol and cleaning wipes. Not a perfume smell to me.

Almost died smelling this. I expected a wonderful milky gourmand perfume... it was nothing like that. As soon as I gave it a smell, my stomach turned. I have never smelt something so horrendous. It smells just like embalming fluid. The devil must’ve created this evil concoction because when I tried to wash it off it was glued to my skin!

Back in the day...like 15 yrs ago...I wore a fragrance, Parfum Sacre by Caron. After first applying Eau Duelle EDP, it smells (IMO) just like Sacre, and if you compare the notes, they are very similar. It starts off with the spiciness of the cardamon and pepper and moves into rose and more spice. The base notes are vanilla and frankincense. It's not a linear vanilla like Le Labo, but IMO, it's not a creamy, boozy complex vanilla like Guerlain's Spiritueuse Double Vanille. If you like a spicy, more complex vanilla, I'd try a sample of Eau Duelle.

Simply beautiful vanilla with a woody backdrop. Not too strong, perfect for any occasion. Can't wait to get my hands on a full bottle.

Soft, pleasant, and pretty. Extra applications / sprays needed to smell on yourself. Not much sillage. Lasts a while as a skin scent. If you want a vanilla that is not very gourmand, this is it. If you do not want a fragrance that makes a unique statement but is just pretty, this is it. For the cost of niche, I prefer more uniqueness and a stronger scent.

I wanted to get another sample, just to be sure I am ready to buy a bottle of this, and it delivered as I hoped. To me, this is the perfect fall snuggly, cozy, wood-puddingesque fragrance. The woods hold steady at the base, the vanilla weaves in and out creating warmth and hugs for the skin, and the other notes rise and fall on me depending on temperature and humidity. This has been a favorite that I keep sampling, and I think it's going to be time to buy a bottle. Love. Love. Love.

I'm remembering the candle I got from this house and how it had no smell at all-- this continues the trend. I might as well buy water for all this smells like.... just a big expensive bunch of nothing.

I received this scent for my custom fitting from Lucky Scent. This was one of my favorites. The warm, deep vanilla enveloped me when I first put it on. That accord really comes through on this fragrance. I feel good when I wear this. Excited to try other fragrances.

This fragrance is sultry and sexy but not loud. Its soft and subtle with nice lasting power. Its devilishly sexy and up close and personal. Its an unforgettable scent. Bravo Diptyque!!

Soft. What I would wear when I need to be ladylike. Unfortunately a nose to skin scent, to smell it on me you would need to invade my personal space in a most unladylike fashion. Truly lovely though.

I am surprised at the 'gender-meter' at the top as saying the EDP version is more 'femme'. I personally find it WAY more 'masc' than the EDT version. SIMPLY AWESOME! Nothing but the FINEST vanilla scents, all rolled into one with a bit of woodiness and muskiness. This version is the one for me, as the EDT is a tad too flowery for my liking. This one is all vanilla.

All I get with this perfume is vanilla. The ingredients listed sounded so fascinating but alas, on me, it is very linear. If you are a vanilla fan I highly recommend Eau Duelle. If not, steer clear.
