Agree re: the patchouli…. I sprayed this on right before a work call (the hazards/delights of working from home) and had to struggle to keep a straight face because it smelled loud and confusing which is patchouli on me. Eventually it faded to a fine vetiver but I will not be revisiting.

A very pleasant surprise, a sample I picked as part of a full order just because the knit bottle cover looks cool. Not expecting much given the list of notes, but I guess it goes to show that some perfumers can do a lot with a little. Fresh, dry with a clean patchouli note (I know it isn't listed on the notes, but im not the only one who smells it) that sits close to my skin and lingers for hours, and never a hint of heavy sweetness. Freshness without cloying violet leaf, sulphuric grapefruit, or lemon Jolly Rancher? Sign me up.

I haven't tried the original so can't compare, however this is exactly like the description. Stays close to the skin and lasts about 4-5 hours. On me it starts off fresh and bit like an overgrown garden/meadow and then warms up with the cedar and sandalwood. Makes me think of reading a book in the countryside in Autumn, surrounded by trees and wrapped in a cosy blanket. Will definitely be buying a FB; love it!

I have not smelt the original formulation but I requested a sample from Anat Fritz in my last order as I was intrigued by the simplicity of this perfume. Spraying it on today the top notes smell acutely of menthol to me, like an organic cleaning product (not a bad smell but not overly wonderful). Once the top notes die down I think this perfume comes into its own - it is very clean and light, with a gentle kind of incensey lavender odour. It does not have great sillage or longevity on my skin (at most, about 3 hours). It IS, as Luckyscent describe, a rather comforting scent (but then I like lavender). Not sure if I'll purchase a bottle but I have enjoyed trying :)

This is every bit as good as the original version. Translation: It is one of my favorite compositions... period.
