Rich and darkly beautiful, Patchouli Noir is not for the faint of heart. If you like your fragrances clean, zippy or refreshing, then you need to move along quickly before this perfume finds you in a dark alley and does unmentionable things. This fragrance not only revels in the exotic depths of patchouli it positively rolls around in it naked and dares you to stare. Dangerously sniffable and achingly seductive, Patchouli Noir has no strident, sharp edges; it's all about warm, sweet and earthy, using a healthy dose of vanilla and a dash soft cedar to move in close and seduce you. Mint offers a fun, brief little burst, but only at first; there's no denying this is one of those rare patchouli-ruled fragrances that could conquer even those who have issues with other patchouli scents. Dark decadence and major wow factor. Wow!

A beautiful, rich patchouli! When you first spray it on it smells like a run of the mill patchouli, however, its magic is in the dry down. As Patchouli Noir unfolds, the sweetness of the poppy blends with a rich vanilla to give the scent its body that stays true for hours without becoming cloying.

A pure patchouli fragrance. The best patchouli etude scent I've tried. The strength of patchouli is cut by vanilla, cedar and a little mint. Not too much of anything - just perfect balance! The only other patch fragrances that are better, IMO are highly blended with other ingredients: Borneo 1834 by S. Lutens and Straight to Heaven By Killian. But this is the best pure patchouli I've smelled.

I can't get my nose off my wrist. I wasn't sure about it at first, although it reminded me of those cigar tubes with the cedar inside, which means it reminded me of my Dad. A good thing. Pretty soon it dried down to a really warm aroma that became more feminine, while still retaining the earth and darkness of the patchouli. I'm loving it.
