It’s about to rain, but for now, the sun’s still out, illuminating the fringes of clouds that seem so full of water it’s a wonder they stay in the sky. Her tea is on the table inside, in danger of getting cold, but she can’t help but stand in the yard in wonder: how can something this soft be so mighty? It’s only the first week of March, and the world is still paralyzed from what felt like the longest winter so far, but she notices something out of the corner of her eye: a single strawberry amidst the grey-green leaves of her defrosting garden.
