Here's what other people are saying about Patchouly...
Omg. This is a smooth beautiful patchouli. I need a bottle! I love this. If you are worried it’s too strong, it’s not. It’s not headship patchouli or hippie. It’s urban chic patchouli and such great smooth quality. 5 stars!

Ok, I'm something of an armchair expert on Patchouli and just a Niche/Indie novice (I guess I just know what I like and don't like and am usually able to discern between well blended/made and just so-so.). I'm passionate about patchouli though and this is my number 2/3. It is sublime. Pure ecstasy. CDG Luxe Patchouli is no. 1, hands down the best (the new EDP is really nice, very much the same, and fairly long lasting, but the Extrait is in a class all it's own. And yes I know, the price is offensive, but it's a true pure extrait). Then Profumum and Montale (YES, I said Montale) Patchouli Leaves comes in 2-3 in a tie. After that Mona Di Orio is next and then Le Labo. I'll stop now. I could rattle on about others for hours but I'll spare everyone that pain. Try them all and let me know your opinion!!

Oh my, I adore this and I don't know when I'll be able to afford a full bottle. I just may have found my forever fragrance. Potent and delicious... a little goes a long way! Definitely worth the price for a full bottle. I'll save for some.

patchouli and birch-tar blended nicely with who-knows-what. Very masculine and strong right off the bat but mellows nicely and gets more interesting as time passes.

Just wanted to let everyone know that this batch of Patchouly still smells wonderful, the more I wear it the more I love it. Couldn't leave my last review as the last one, this scent is just TOO GOOD - the best I've ever smelled, honestly. I'd get more for sure :)

Well, just ordered the entire bottle of Patchouly, and it doesn't smell like the last batch, it seems way weaker, and I'm not sure why. I'll look forward to what other people think of it but this needs more incense smell, more of all the smells that the last batch had.

This scent is calming, mesmerizing, amazing and magical. I'll definitely be buying a full bottle :)

I love the exotic first whiff of this. If it weren't for the price, this would be just the spicy, earthy scent I've been looking for. However, it seems to dry down on me to something like root beer and licorice. Still yummy... I'm just not sure I can justify the price for a whole bottle.

I agree with "chip's" review, below. This is not warm and fuzzy...but it is warm and sensual and deeply comforting. It's the best patchouly based perfume I've ever tried.

Listen closely, ladies. It's all about body chemistry here. If you have the chemistry for intense Patch., go for it in a major way. Men swoon over this once it has about an hour to setup. Enjoy the rewards!

The earthy opening was encouraging, but the dry-down on me was distinctly old-lady. Oh well . . .

This scent is a simple Patchouli, and I just found out how much I hate Patchouli. This was better than two other Patchoulis I tried, but marginally, and mostly because it was lighter.

Heartbreaking. I took a chance on this as I love Patchouly and am always interested to see what people do with it but this was just way off. The earthy naturalness of it that i love is lost, even in the dry down. I guess I dont have a very trained nose but I cant find the incense (for that I love the CDG line). Here all I could smell was a bit of Patchouly made sweet by what smells overwhelmingly to me like vanilla. Vanilla - a scent I loathe. Ah well. I am sure it's a high quality scent and I know most people are scared off by true Patchouly so rest assured this isn't it. It was a pricey mistake but I will gift it to someone who will appreciate it.

On first application, this is almost too earthy and "dirty" to be pleasant. But after an hour or so it morphs into something less rough, more woody and almost gourmand. The drydown even hints at some of the absinthe-inspired fragrances out there and has a smooth (and not cloying) sweetness with an undertone of bitter. Try it if you're a patchouly fan.

Lovely patchouli fragrance, a bit resinous and a bit sweet at the same time. But for the price tag, you might just as well get the Jalaine Patchouli refill which is half price and just as good! I'd buy a bottle if this was cheaper.
