Fig Tea
Eau Fraiche
by PARFUMS DE NICOLAI

The Scoop
Finally here comes a fragrance to delight the fans of non-green, fruity figs. The leaves and the twigs of a fig tree were abandoned in favor of the divine, nectarous, darkly-sweet fruits. The figs in Patricia de Nicolai’s rendition are ripe and marvelously soft, oozing ambrosial juice…The osmanthus, with its slight apricot-like undertone, and the wonderfully boozy davana make the smell of figs not just mouthwatering but actually intoxicating…To keep the lush sweetness in check, the creator balanced the figs and the flowers with a tea note. Dry and slightly smoky, black tea turns the decadently luscious composition into a blend of utter elegance. A treat for the fig-scent connoisseurs and the lovers of refined and unusual fruity perfumes.

I was immediately taken with this fragrance when I sampled it, as I love tea and I adore figs. Its creamy-spicy aroma was something I had never experienced before, and I was pleasantly suprised to find that this was actually long-lasting. I own a full bottle of this, but I don't find that I reach for it. It is a little bit different from the sample I had and loved. Either the fragrance has been changed from the original sample I once had, or my skin chemistry has changed, because now Fig Tea fades into a boring detergent aroma with no tea or figs to be found. When I take the lid off and sniff the sprayer, it smells the same luscious creamy-spicy way it used to on my skin, but when I actually put it on my skin now, it smells nothing like it does in the bottle anymore.

This was my go-to frag this past summer. Light, but with enough body to create some sillage - even in Colorado's dry climate. It's a unique fragrance; it's almost easier to say what it is not. It is not sugar-sweet. It is not gourmand, at least to me, but it is ripe. It is not overpowering, but has presence. It can transition from work to dinner out with ease. Definitely a favorite.

I love, Love, LOVE this fragrance. It is sweet but not cloying. It is simple with stages of development. Think of a fresh fig. The raw skin of the fruit, the sweet nectar and the juice that crystallizes after running down your hand after a succulent bite. I am on my 3rd purchase of this fragrance. Did I mention it has great staying power? Great in the warm season.

This is my favorite scent. It's incredibly unique and is just the right balance of sweet and spicy. I've never smelled anything quite like it, and it's become my signature.

Smells like sweet licorice with a hint of fig and tea on my skin. I suppose the fig note could have been more prominent, but I still like it since I love licorice almost as much as I love figs.

Extremely unpretentious...

A lovely, light summer fragrance. Fruity, but not sweet, and unlike any other perfume I've smelled.

I like fig scents, but I really don't care for this. There's not much depth; it smells like a drugstore fragrance or an air freshener. Every time I put this on, I end up scrubbing it off. Not so good to my nose.

Very fresh and energising. Far the best in this line. A must have for the hot days.

At first whiff, this didn't impress me, although it was pleasant. I love Botrytis, Fifi Chachnil, Tea for Two...a scent has to be really distinctive to be bottle-worthy to me. However, I found myself catching a light scent throughout the day, and kept thinking, "What smells good? Oh, it's me!" Fig Tea swings between smelling like a high-end air freshener and soft, sweet skin. When it's on the air freshener end, it's pleasant but not exciting. When it's on the soft, sweet skin end, it's irresistible! Warmer and sweeter than most fig scents, it's great for summer and to wear casually or to work. This is on my short list of "May Buy A Bottle". Definitely try a sample, and give it a couple of chances!

beautifully refined fig scent--just a little flowery, not overpowering. A little fruit tea scent lingers as well. Abeautiful find!

I hardly can find words to describe how much I'm impressed by this one. Pure mellow fig with refreshing mate tea and a hint of peachy overtone. Fresh and foxy, simple and creative, though. Don't miss it!

I was expecting this to be a lot fresher - instead there is quite a heavy smokey tea aspect to it (obviously, because it has tea in it) which overrides the fruitiness. It mellows into a lovely soft fragrance which is really complex and unusual. A nice blend of tea!

This is a GREAT mix of floral and fragrances. Since it contains fig I was expecting something a bit heavier, but this is just right! Though it is pretty linear and uncomplicated, it doesn't disappoint. I can totally see wearing this fresh out of a shower on a Spring day!

Julie, I couldn't agree more. THIS is how clean is supposed to smell. It smeels as though you bathed in a mountain stream in mid-July, then sun-dried yourself in a nearby meadow full of ripe berries and mountain wildflowers. This is just delightful.

Yay! I LOVE this! I ordered about 18 samples that have fig in them in this one was my favorite of all. I dont really like fruity perfumes but this has the perfect amount of fruityness. (I dont really think it smells that fruity). All the other fig scents were too green or earthy and this was just right. Also, I gave up on finding the perfect 'clean' scent because they were either too sharp, to soapy, too cold, too masculine, too citrusy, etc; this is the 'clean' smell I had in my head that I couldnt find and it smells nothing like the Clean line. 5 stars!
