Lady Vengeance

The Scoop
Elegant yet bristling with wild, thorny rose, Lady Vengeance hides its claws under velvety rose petals, soft patchouli and seductive vanilla. She’s not a dominatrix in leather…this beauty is clad in a waist cinching, blood red corset, silk stockings and carries a satin whip. Sly and charming under her rosy exterior, Lady Vengeance lays waste to the non-believers in the seductive powers of rose by wrapping her legs around an earthy patchouli and dipping her fingers in the time honored man slayer of golden vanilla, a combination that’s impossible to deny. Resistance is futile!

At first I did not like it,but the next day I fell in love with this! It is very strong on me and the key is to use very very little. This is a dangerous Rose and very addictive. Great staying power, could smell it on my wrist 2 days and after showers!

I think it would be awesome on a man, not feminine at all. I put it on in the morning and didn't feel right whole day thinking I was smelling like a man. Quality and longevity are great but not for me. 5 stars as a men's fragrance, 2 as a woman's

It is fantastic!!! I simply love it!!!!

Believe me when I tell you that my perfume collection is extensive. Believe me when I tell you that this is the ONLY fragrance in my collection that makes people stop and ask me what I'm wearing. Simple, sweet, seductive. There's no way not to love this perfume.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

I ordered samples of all the Juliette Has A Gun fragrances out of curiosity about the brand. Lady Vengeance has bowled me over. I've struggled to find a rose fragrance which isn't too chintzy or strong, and this is perfect. It's a complex rose fragrance with great staying power - I only used a couple of drops in the morning and still got a few compliments about the perfume in the evening. Will definitely invest in a full bottle.

it is boring...nice opening but after that... nothing special.

Im SOOOO IN LOVE WITH LADY VENGEANCE!!!! I am usually hard to impress by rosy fragrances but this one has captured my heart and mind with every passing moment..... i love its change of character with time from the moment you spray it on. im giving it a 7star rating!!!

I LOVE THIS!! I bought some in Paris last year .. and cannot get enough .. most of my friends now have the scent as well .. it is well loved!!

This fragrance isn't terrible, but I felt like the patchouli was strangling the rose. There's also a sharp note in there that makes this unwearable. Reminds me of the awful perfumes from the 80's.

I love the name, and I was really hoping to like it....but on me, it smells almost exactly like Pond's cold cream. Ugh.
By kimchi - from San Jose, CA on 6/5/2009
This is a chocolaty rose. The notes listed say it all: I perceive the chocolate note probably as a side effect of the patch-vanilla combo. This scent bears resemblance with many others featuring the same combination of notes: l'Artisan's, Guerlain Nahema, …. It is not original, I would never wear it again, but I do like it better than its illustrious predecessors (I consider those simply toxic). I can see someone fond of the patch+rose recipe falling in love with lady vengeance, though! It is nicely round, with good sillage and good lasting power (+ nice bottle and great name). Just not me the patch+rose+vanilla thing.

I expected to be underwhelmed by this fragrance and sniffed it out of curiosity. I thought it smelled nice, so I sprayed some on my wrist. Within minutes I was intrigued and 30 minutes later I was completely blown away. This composition is seamlessly blended - you can't pinpoint the rose, patchouli and vanilla - they come together to create a powerhouse scent. I gave my wrist to various people to smell, i.e. my server, another perfume retailer, friends and everyone loved it. It's a seductive, sexy, I am Woman scent. I feel like a goddess wearing it - and there really aren't many scents that have that ability. Honestly, try a sample, you never know what will happen.

I love the name, but I am a little disappointed. Reminds me of these rose-scented room fragrance things my mom used to buy. It really just smells like rose and sandalwood, not a lot of depth, but great if you're looking for a simple rose scent.

I love the names of these perfumes. I also love the scent. Out of all the samples I purchased, this one is my favorite. Soft, floral, very pretty.

I've heard a lot of beef against Lady Vengeance, so I was expecting to be disappointed. I absolutely was NOT!! While I can understand some of the complaints against this (eg - too much patchouli), but I personally loved it and found it to be a really fun, endearing, distinct scent. I've heard many comparisons between this and Bond Number 9's West Side, and they're a "little" similar, but not terribly. Lady Vengeance indeed feels a bit naughty and mischievous, and for me, it's far more entertaining than either Citizen Queen (too powdery) or Miss Charming.

Like most people, I'm often attracted to fragrances initially because of their names. I was attracted to neither the name of the house, nor the names of the fragrances in this line. (Having been a literature teacher for many years I didn't want my Juliet ruined through olfactory disappointment). Plus, the house slogan "hostilities in progress", is extremely off-putting to me. However, Lady Vengeance attracted me when I smelled it in the air, and I demanded to know what it was. I feel it's a romantic, and dazzling chypre that's slightly daring, and assertive. It's a dramatic blend with a vanilla-patchouli base haunted by a mysterious hint of rose. If you like Voleur de Rose and Cabaret, or the Rosines, you may really enjoy Lady Vengeance.

Love it, smells like roses and smoke.

I'm shocked that I love this like I do! I bought it because I loved the name. Terrible, I know but who can resist? Normally, I don't like rose-based perfumes, or roses for that matter. But the rose here was very tart, a lovely contrast and BACKGROUND to the warmer notes in the foreground. Even as the day wore on, the rose smell didn't take over. I adored it.

Overrated.......try something else.

Surprisingly nice! Playful, mischevious, and not at all your granny's rose. Goes on bright and red-rosey, dries down with sweetened woody patch. This is actually sexy as opposed to romantic, in my opinion. It does not go powdery or soapy as so many roses do. I imagine this being worn by confident and outgoing women who get into the best kinds of trouble!
By Anonymous on 4/10/2008
Love it! I gravitate to warm orientals and gourmands, but this is an exception. This is rose with some attitude and staying power. The patch spices it up, and the vanilla pulls it all together. Very nice.
By Anonymous on 4/7/2008
WOW...this is a sexy grown up woman scent....the rose is understated and it works for this awesome parfum. Warm sexy scent with great staying power, but not overpowering.
By parfumnut on 3/17/2008
Who knew such a simple blend could be so sexy and alluring? This one is flirty in the most sophisticated way. I'm not a fan of floral, and rose is usually the one floral note I can do without, but Lady Vengeance has changed my mind.

fantastic! warm, but with an edge! very unique!
By Anonymous - student from new orleans on 3/1/2008
This rose scent determined to please young girls, however, is very charismatic to my surprise! It is not a very complicated blend but it is very alluring. There is a very balanced interplay of light and shadow in which patchouli smells dark and dangerous while rose ethereal and sublime! It won¡¦t be my favorite rose scent but I like it far better than most of rose scents out there in mass market.

VA VA Voom! This perfume makes me think of a woman who is just deliciously devilish -and does just what she pleases! The rose is to swoon over w/the patcholi/vanilla gives it a little bite to remember with a smile. It's just purr-fect for me. Watch out ladies, this is going to bring back lipstick on collars so fast your head will spin. I'd just love to see the look on some mousewife sorting laundry and catching a whiff of this cachet d'amour.
By M.Ault - Belle Epoque from Oceanside on 1/26/2008
this is quite similar to stella but soapier, sharper, and more synthetic- which, not to be too dramatic (!), culminates in something kind of nauseating. i also find that the notes are blended to the point of being condensed or flat. all in all, not a winner for me. maybe with the right body chemistry??
By ac - from toronto on 1/23/2008
I agree that the rose note in this smells very synthetic. Too bad.
By xtine - film editor from NYC on 1/11/2008
This is harsh on me and gave me a headache. To me, the rose smells synthetic.
By Blondfriend - from Laguna Beach on 1/9/2008
This smelled very much like classic Fendi on me... dark and pretty, but... too much like Fendi!
By modernmuse - TV Writer-Producer from Tulsa on 1/9/2008
Better than I thought for a Rose!
By Thelma - from Baltimore on 1/8/2008
This could be mistaken for Agent Provocateur at first sniff...same rose+patchouli combo. However, Lady Vengeance does it better - the rose is more dominant - the patchouli is well blended adding a touch of warmth without being dirty or sour & the addition of vanilla gives a sweet and elegant drydown. I wish the lasting power was as strong as Agent Provocateur...that's my only complaint. This is the closest I've found so far to a signature scent. It's lovely - not vengeful in the least!
By Elaine M. - from South San Francisco on 12/30/2007
JUST RECEIVED THIS PERFUME, AND IT IS GREAT, YOU SMELL ROSE, BUT IT IS NOT STRONG, IT IS PERFECTLY BLENDED...LUV, LUV.
By BEM - NURSE from SUGARLAND on 12/22/2007
Goodness me!! This is so wonderful. It goes on strong and then the dry down is fascinating and lingering. I think it should be called long term Vengeace! Get it, aim your gun and fire!! POW~~
By Lynette manieri - Instructor from San Mateo, Ca on 12/13/2007
This is a rose with attitude. A Rose McGowan or a Gypsy Rose Lee. This is rose for the woman who is not to be trifled with. There's no doubt she is all woman, but there is not a submissive bone in her body. The name suits the fragrance perfectly.
By Teri - Energy Analyst from Denver on 12/11/2007
I am not a rose person whatsoever, but this perfume could convert me. Give it a try.
By D - from Laguna Niguel, CA on 11/29/2007
I'm so glad luckyscent has this now!! I don't care for the vast majority of rose based scents out there, as they tend to be overwhlming. But this one is delicate withou being fleeting, fruity without being blase

This sounds intriguing...can a sample please be made available!? (p.s. rating n/a as I haven't tried it yet)
