Hello, it's time to talk about tuberose. The name may be a little bit confusing. People think that it's maybe a type of rose and it's not at all. It's a white floral that has more in common with lilies or even orange blossom or jasmine. Like those other white florals, it's indolic and lush and creamy, but tuberose is especially intoxicating and narcotic. It's known as being a very big, beautiful, and bold white floral.
It's actually native to Mexico and is related to the agave plant, which is pretty interesting. One of our favorite tuberoses here is called OroNardo by the brand Xinu, which is from Mexico. Unfortunately, I don't have the bottle here, but that's a really beautiful, green, realistic tuberose that you should check out. I'm going to go through a few of my other favorites on the shelf.
Flos Mortis by Rogue leans a little bit more vintage. This has an opening note that's a little bit camphoris or medicinal. It kind of reminds me of Carmex, and personally, I love that. This is a very beautiful, long-lasting tuberose with excellent sillage.
Moonbloom by Hiram Green is unique because it is 100% natural, so he uses actual tuberose absolute. This one feels a little bit vintage. It has a very sophisticated character, and there are spices and resins in here that give it something kind of earthy and grounding amidst that really dreamy white floral.
Tuberose à Straw by Maison Crivelli is unlike Moonbloom or Flos Mortis, more of a modern interpretation of tuberose. It has a really pretty cinnamon note up top and dries down into a leather and musk that has become Maison Crivelli's signature.
Complement by Maison Viola is a recent addition to our collection here, and this one is a little bit more tropical than the others. There's Ylang Ylang and Orange Blossom.
