Hi everyone. So we know you guys love our shelf tours and we thought it would be really cool to maybe isolate individual notes that we're interested in, that we like to wear and talk about. I immediately thought of all the spice notes I love. I love a spicy perfume. Probably my favorite of the spice notes to wear is cardamom. So I thought why not talk about cardamom?
What is cardamom? It's a beautiful aromatic spice and then there's this lemony feeling to it. It gives a little balsamic maybe. It's so interesting. It gives a little effervescence to perfumes. I think the most common at least in the United States is green cardamom and it has that sort of feeling of a little spicy peppery. I feel like it sort of wakes you up. It's a really beautiful top note usually in perfumes.
So the first thing I thought of right away is Intoxicated by Kilian. Probably the most cardamom forward scent that I have smelled. It is so beautiful. It's so vibrant and just kind of wakes you up with that Turkish coffee note that's in here too. Another one I thought of is Everyone's Favorite You Know Her You Love Her Gris Charnel. This has this beautiful cardamom with fig, black tea and this creamy sandalwood. So it's not maybe the only note you'll notice in here but it definitely highlights this beautiful bouquet.
One of my all-time favorites, Forever Black Jade by Luban. This is also a gorgeous ode to cardamom at the top. There's cardamom, there's a bit of cinnamon which I also love and there's a touch of bergamot. It goes into these beautiful floral notes and then a creamy tonka vanilla incense kind of thing. That's really lovely but you definitely get that cardamom at the top.
Maracatch Intense by Aesop. Another beautiful tribute to cardamom with some rose. And it's a little more maybe green and spicy
